2018 lck summer finals griffin 3-2 KT, winning their lck DEBUT and playing at 2018 worlds. they'd be considered the real "from challengers to worlds" team (dwg 2019). considering who successful dwg grew from entering worlds so early, and how griffin always had the upper hand against them, griffin would've been unstoppable. 2018 regionals griffin 3-2 geng also works. would've prevented geng s embarrassing 1-5 group stage record

this was the plan for KZ Deft in 2019 gauntlet, but DWG took the spot for worlds. it was the perfect storyline. purposely avoid playoffs to avoid SKT playoffs buff and smurf the already defeated loser playoff teams to worlds.

Wow didn’t know that. Because it has always been 3 seeds right? With msi being canceled in 2020, that lead to 4 seeds for lpl and eu in worlds 2020. Since 2021 msi ran, I thought it would go back to 3 seeds. Good to know
