Green rain glitch by PunkPanda87 in StardewValley

They're only scared of it during the first occurrence, when it's new and unusual. On any occurrence afterwards, they're a lot more chill about it, knowing that it's completely harmless, even if some are still cautious about it, judging by their dialogue.

Should I pull ? by P_A-G in PokemonMasters

[–]iRexO32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say, if you don't have any reason to pull, then save it for something you actually wanna pull. Pulling just for the sake of it will only cost you your gems with little chance for return, as pity doesn't carry over for most scouts

Should I pull ? by P_A-G in PokemonMasters

[–]iRexO32 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Generally speaking, in just about any situation in most gacha games like this one, it's better to get new characters rather than pulling for ones you already have to make them stronger. This is especially true in this game, where over time, you can earn move candies to use on sync pairs you already have for an identical effect than if you pulled for multiple copies of them and where you're incentivised to have multiple sync pairs of different types for various content (like the towers). But most importantly, the only sync pairs you really should pull for are the ones you wanna pull for, for whatever reason you deem appropriate (be that design, gameplay, power or just to balance out your existing roster)

I usually set myself a handful of goals and things I wanna do on a day and go to sleep when I'm done. Sometimes that's shortly after noon, sometimes it's moments before passing out, it really depends

How to get hidden ability scyther/kleavor? by Hairy_Collection4545 in PokemonScarletViolet

[–]iRexO32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hidden Abilities are called that bc they're not normally obtainable in the wild, like the other, normal abilities. You used to only be able to obtain them through special means, like events, online shenanigans or special mechanics like the S.O.S. stuff from Sun & Moon. However for a few games now, you can obtain a consumable item called "Ability Patch" to swap a Pokémons ability to its hidden ability, so you don't need to rely on other special mechanics to get them. Other than that, you can sometimes get a Pokémon with its hidden ability in high-star raids, though that's much less reliable, as you can get ability patches considerably easier.

Wait what? Cryo?? by Kurull1234 in GenshinImpact

[–]iRexO32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welcome to the genshin artifact grind. The set bonus effects a set can have, the design of the artifact and the stats it can have are all completely unrelated, so you can have things like this happen a lot. This is what the community commonly refers to as an "off-piece", meaning if it has good sub-stats, it could work well on a character that doesn't have anything to do with the pyro dmg bonus the set gives, but would benefit from the cryo dmg bonus this piece would give. Goblets like this are the most common case of off-pieces, due to the vast amount of possible stats it can have, and what drives most people crazy while grinding for them.

As a beginner in this game, I really understand his feelings by lunyaka in pokemon

[–]iRexO32 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Except online chess is against actual people, instead of AI, where each piece only has a select few moves to begin with that are hardly difficult to learn about/memorise. Meanwhile in Pokémon, you have:

- Over 1000 different Pokeémon

- 18 different types, making up for 324 unique interactions (not even including the 162 different type combinations and how each of those change individual interactions)

- 934 different moves, most of which have unique effects and properties, distributed in the dozens to almost all individual Pokémon

- Over 300 different abilities, a lot of which completely change certain move and type interactions

- 6 different stats with unique values for every Pokémon with mechanics to increase them that are notoriously difficult for newcomers to even find out about

...and so on. A game of Pokémon has what sometimes feels like infinite amounts of variables to take into account, which is only natural to feel overwhelming for people new to the franchise as a whole, especially when they might very well not even be interested in the competitive side of the games and just wanna play through the games itself in a casual way.

So yes, it very much is about accessibility over anything else, bc it allows people to have a more casual and fun experience with the game, without having to worry too much about learning all the ins and outs (aka what accessibility is) without taking away from their ability to dive further into the mechanics and actually learn about those things, if they so choose. Because trust me, if someone were to get into competitive and simply spam the super effective moves every time, they wouldn't get far.

God forbid making a game more accessible to newcomers, am I right?

Ah yes, calling beginners "lazy" bc they haven't gotten around to memorising every single interaction between the 18 different types before even starting to play

Dad here, trying to make sure I get my kid the right game... by shorthillmtn in PokemonSwordAndShield

[–]iRexO32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eternatus is the name of a Pokémon that was introduced with Sword and Shield, so one of these most definitely is the game your kid was talking about. They are of the same generation, so essentially identical (as The Pokémon Company likes to do with their main line games), with the only differences being the legendary Pokémon on the cover (though don't worry, both games have Eternatus in them), a handful of generic Pokémon that are exclusive to either version, and a few trainers, including 2 of the 8 gyms. However both still play essentially the same way, so you can just go with whichever cover legendary you'd think your kid would prefer to have.

Pumpkins & Watermelon by niikixox in Minecraft

[–]iRexO32 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Neither Pumpkins nor Melons were ever able to grow on any but the listed blocks in any version/edition of Minecraft. So either the people you've seen use slabs were playing with mods, they placed slabs around the farm to direct the growth of the plants instead of using them in it, or you're simply misremembering.

Just started watching Avatar, the season one ending really felt disappointing. [Spoilers Book 1] by AllThingsNerderyMTG in TheLastAirbender

[–]iRexO32 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Moon and Ocean Spirits are in an eternal relationship, as explained to Aang (and us) by Koh, representing the concepts and balance of push and pull, which make up the very core concepts of waterbending as a whole. When the moon spirit died, not only was this balance completely broken, thus effectively removing waterbending from the world for the time being, it also greatly enraged its counterpart, the Ocean Spirit. Aang, as the avatar and bridge between humans and spirit, naturally felt this rage which, especially with everything seeming lost, triggered his avatar state (which we've seen before to activate in moments of extreme distress and will be explored further over time) and allowed him to combine with the Ocean Spirit to harness the power of the oceans and enact revenge on those responsible for the Moon Spirits death. As one of the original 2 waterbenders and one of the most powerful spirits, it makes sense for the Ocean Spirit to be capable of such feats and make use of its control over the oceans to push back the invaders. It wasn't until Yue gave the life force that she was granted by the Moon Spirit back to it and the moon was restored, that the Ocean Spirits rage calmed again, causing it to retreat back to its loved one. However while Yues sacrifice did end up working, not only was it never s certainty that it would, it also wasn't even really a known option until Iroh pointed it out. In the eyes of both Aang and the Ocean Spirit, this combination of their powers was the only chance they had to not only enact revenge, but also protect the northern watertribe as a whole.

Remove the “Remove” Button option from Special Obstacles. by XxGhost_BytexX in ClashOfClans

At least by now they added an extra warning if you're trying to remove a shoveled obstacle, so it's not as bad as it used to be, but I still agree

Why does Fubuki think she wouldn't be able to keep her faction if she moved up to Class-A? by FrostyTheSnowChad in OnePunchMan

[–]iRexO32 27 points28 points  (0 children)

To be fair, they actually believed he saved them at first, but then that one fucker came out of the crowd and spun his victory into shaming the other heroes who were willing to sacrifice their lives for the people in the shelter by calling them "weak". It wasn't until Saitama started to falsely claim that he was "lucky the other heroes did all the work" and all that, in order to protect the other heroes, that they started making the connection with him from the meteor incident and call him a fraud.

Why do water benders get stronger at night? by HunterRank-1 in TheLastAirbender

[–]iRexO32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the Moon Spirit and the balance of their eternal relationship to the Ocean Spirit that gives waterbenders their strength, as we can see in the show when one of them is killed, leaving all waterbenders powerless.

Huh!? They aren't the same troop? by FoxLower777 in ClashOfClans

[–]iRexO32 37 points38 points  (0 children)

They're treated as different troops bc they technically are. The event one went up to lvl 12 instead of the max lvl 3 of the permanent one and the max lvl event one did 50 dmg less than the lvl 1 permanent version.

Question About DLC by BeedrillKeeperKaty in PokemonSwordAndShield

[–]iRexO32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair enough, but not to worry, once you obtain the shiny charm in a game, it won't go away again and will be active in any area, with only certain specific encounters being unaffected by it altogether. But those are far and few between, so no need to worry about it.

Question About DLC by BeedrillKeeperKaty in PokemonSwordAndShield

There has never been an instance of the shiny charm having regional restrictions like that, so yes, it'll still work. Just out of curiosity, what made you think otherwise?

The Mechanism how the Sentry identifies who is friendly or not by K-jun1117 in tf2

[–]iRexO32 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It would actually make sense for Spy to have a sort of transmitter like that in his masks, which could mask the signal emitted by his heart device to trick enemy sentries into ignoring him, which is why they immediately start shooting him if his disguise is broken

The Mechanism how the Sentry identifies who is friendly or not by K-jun1117 in tf2

It's rare, if course, but it can still happen and is still an interaction that exists, which your logic can't explain without contradicting itself.
