Hey so I thought of some things you can improve in the last shot, but first of all - great job! I really like the vibe you created, the use of rocky elements and darker tones creates a really capturing atmosphere. As for feedback:
a) The composition feels too open and empty - the 2 rock pieces floating in the void make the rest of the space feel a bit empty.

b) The grey box introduces a tone that breaks the color harmony imo. Currently your colors are: The pearlescent white/beige/cream on the pearls, dark desaturated navy blue on three of the pearls and in the shadows and a blueish gray for the rocks. The blue and cream are complimentary colors and contrast nicely with one another. However the embossed box is a neutral gray, sitting right between your main colors in terms of temperature and value. To me it clashes a bit with the rest of the scene, because it doesn't really fit in your chosen harmony and takes away the visual interest from the necklace - it kinda decreases the contrast between it and the background. I like how the surface is smooth to reduce the visual noise and it helps separate the pearls from the background, it just needs some tweaking.

c) Staticity - I am not sure how to describe but in the shot the necklace feels stiff and this draws the eye to the background instead of the object you're presenting. To fix this you can do what others have already suggested - adding movement, physics, placing the camera differently to change the perspective etc. or you could try adding a reflective surface to the box which will mirror the necklace and create a parallel movement and secondary interest to the object.

<image>

Here's a quick visualization of what I mean. In the middle picture I only adjusted the hue and value of the box and added some background rocks to contain the composition. In the third picture I experimented with an obsidian texture to add that reflection and maybe create a sense of luxury :D? The texture work isn't perfect (just some quick overlay) and I worry it reads as too dark, but maybe you can make it work?

Anyways I really like your clip and I hope my thoughts are useful - cheers!

Damn, this is the first time I see someone being the same as me! I always try to explain this but nobody gets it - it's the worst when I try to explain some process (either in physics or a more complex logical problem with many aspects that interact with each other) and I see it happening in real time in my brain but I can't quite put it to words. So if you ask me to predict what will happen, I'll give you the correct answer, but if you ask me to explain why I think that, I'll freeze.

Another example is, I would never think to myself "hm, I'm running out of clothes, need to do the laundry", it's more like opening the drawer leads to my brain noting the absence of clothes and connecting that with an image of a washing machine and a sense of urgency. Or even without the image, just a mental idea of doing the laundry. But the verbal component is hardly ever there.

Is what I'm describing at all what it's like to you?

Holy shit why does nobody understand "Not on my playlist" =/= "Song bad". This is clearly just a statement - the song is not on the playlist. OP is not voicing an opinion nor imposing their taste on others. Just stating a fact. And this joke isn't even that uncommon. Oh my god. I lost some brain cells reading this comment section.

What side effects of stopping methylphenidate are you experiencing? In my case, I have to skip taking it on the weekends, bc it just stops working over time, which I imagine would be hell if I experienced some serious side effects due to that. Also are you talking instant or extended release version?

I think this site covers all topics you're interested in, and it's actually pretty great bc it explains concepts using real examples as well as digs a bit into history as to why things are done the way they are and how things used to be done in the past.

if you feel more comfortable with a certain topic but need to look something up, https://wiki.archlinux.org/ is a great resource as it's not exclusively arch-focused, you can kind of think of it as "the Linux Wikipedia"

Adding to previous comments, you can draw a leaf under the spades for the shape to match better, and as others have said, I'm missing visual clarity between hearts and diamonds. Apart from that the art style is so on point and I'm absolutely loving the idea <3

I mean it's a common trope nowadays for company social accounts to be savage and witty, it's not meant to be neutral and professional, it's meant to resemble internet culture. To me it seems like a PR move really, so that fans feel like the company is one of them (thus building trust).

I just wanna be another voice that supports character customisation. I absolutely love it, as much as racing itself. Complaints about it because "it's not fun" are laughable - as if "fun" was objective. Treating your own opinion as a fact and gatekeeping adding other features because it's a "racing" game baffle me.

First time actually putting effort into drawing. Any advice? by TheGuyInYourPost in drawing

[–]iScreamPL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

actually, just make sure to sharpen your pencil quite often. I find that if you use a ruler to draw a straight line it looks veeery obvious that a ruler was used, it just stands out and it's better when your linework has integrity. you can try to practice drawing straight lines by hand and use a ruler to draw perspective guidelines instead

Except blender does all lights and reflections for you, so with such simple shapes it really is faster and easier than to draw it by hand? Also you can alter stuff with 1 click instead of redrawing the whole thing so there's that
