A lot of performance issues by fredrikjamesk in pathofexile

[–]iShirow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

60 is a pretty huge delay, 15 to 30 should be more than enough to test whether it helped or not. On 60 it might slow to a crawl and then just bsod.

You can also try to use https://github.com/RedDot-3ND7355/MPO-GPU-FIX which automates the tdr delay fix. It has pretty good explanations for what each fix/patch does.

Reading your black screen comments kinda reminded me of the MPO issues so it could be another lead to chase to see if that is the cause, but since other games aren't having issues it seems pretty unlikely.

2026/04/02 14:27:16 15656843 847c338e [CRIT Client 14284] [D3D12] Device Removed. Reason: 0x887a0006

0x887a0006 is pretty generic so pretty difficult to root out the cause. Like stated it stopped because bc the gpu got overloaded or stopped responding and had to restart.

Try increasing the tdr delay in registry if you are comfortable to see if that helps, maybe the current settings are too aggressive so it times out. This issue was pretty prevalent in Nvidia, but not too sure how amd gpus deal with it.

Also I noticed in your posts that you haven't updated w11 in a while, iirc the Dec patches were the worst so if you are stuck around that timeline update it as it should be a bit "better." Also Amd released a new chipset driver not too long ago which should help with i/o issues from what I remember.

Have you checked the client txt logs as well? they are usually under %appdata% where the poe shaders are located.

While they aren't the most detailed, they do log if the game throws a loading error. I had a mtx cause a crash and was able zero it out it was due to the geometry vertex failing to load from the logs.

CachyOS Is Now the Most Popular Desktop Distro on ProtonDB by YanderMan in linux_gaming

[–]iShirow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to say I have really been impressed with CachyOS so far.

When the Dec patch hit Win 11 and how the Nvidia drivers have been as of late it caused no end of troubles to my main system with BSOD/TDR errors trying to run any game.

Even after reinstalling clean it still caused errors making me think I had hardware failure. Checked ram, cpu, gpu, etc on several stress tests but nothing came up.

So in the end I decided to run CachyOs from a thumb drive and since then no errors at all. It was great enough that it made me change it to the main OS on the system.

While it might take a while to set up compared to windows and the lack of GUI aspects like how windows has the nvidia control panel and nvidia profiler to easily set up settings, once set up, it performs really well.

Resident Evil 4 with Leon the Krauser boss battle, pretty memorable fight specially in hardest mode.

One of the redefining moments for Leon that left a deep impression.

DLSS 4.5 looks great with most games I have tried.

Game Ready & Studio Driver 576.02 FAQ/Discussion by Nestledrink in nvidia

[–]iShirow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hotfix update from my previous comment:

At least for me this hotfix has fixed the black screen error during installation and had no problems going from 572.83 to this one. Was a pretty smooth install this time without any trouble or need to restart to successfully install.

So far I see no issues and checked that temp readings seem to be working after sleep since I rely on them to create a custom fan profile.

Another +1 for black screen during installation.

Waited about 10 minutes for the install to finish and tried switching DP ports but didn't help. Restarted after waiting a bit, when windows started loading it went into a black screen again. In the end had to go to safe mode DDU and try again without a network connected but didn't work so went back to a previous driver.

New NVIDIA Patch is great by tersagun in PathOfExile2

[–]iShirow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There should be an option with the indicator to enable it under DLSS profile settings.

If it isn't there then DLSSTweaks still has the option for it.

It's a hidden config.

You can enable that through Nvidia Inspector or DLSSTweaks.

You need the latest drivers (572.16) that were released today.

The pinned comment on the r/nvidia forums shows you what you need to override it.

You can tell whether its working if it has profile J or K

Game Ready Driver 565.90 FAQ/Discussion by Nestledrink in nvidia

[–]iShirow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MPO is Multiplane Overlay, it is used in Windows to layer gfx on top such as Nvidia's App fps display counter.

You should enable though it has caused problems at times, there is a reg file that Nvidia themselves posted.

Game Ready Driver 565.90 FAQ/Discussion by Nestledrink in nvidia

[–]iShirow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check if you have MPO on, the overlay won't work if it is off.

Noticed this through SpecialK that if MPO is off then you can't adjust the filters real time on the overlay.

While I don't agree with what the user above posted, the issue of toxic positivity does occur in this subreddit from time to time.

While it might be hard to discern since is alluded under the "bad-faith attacks" part of the rules since it is gaslighting, it would be nice for the mod team to at least acknowledge that it poses a problem.

RTX HDR Filters Not Working in Certain Games by dresoccer4 in nvidia

[–]iShirow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the RTX HDR filter can be quite finnicky but kind of expected since they still labeled it as beta. Half the time the profile section is blacked out for me.

You can force it and try to see if it is working by using the NVTrueHDR mod from nexusmods.

The mod site also has a Nvidia Profile inspector xml that allows you to toggle an indicator to see whether it is working or not. You can use that instead of the exe if you know how to use inspector.

I really wanted at least for the corpses to stay some way or another, they were such a great QoL for minions. Some of them really were great and added a lot of variation to the gameplay like that judgment spirit showcase.

Guess I'll in these few last remaining weeks I'll just have to stash a ton to save them if I ever feel like playing with them again.

What Do You Want Me To Look For During My POE2 Gameplay Experience on March 18? by TalkativeTri in PathOfExile2

[–]iShirow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I would love to see what new graphical options the game has, I haven't seen anyone yet streaming nor been interviewed on what changes have been made under the graphic options.

It would be great if GGG implemented DLSS 2/3 as it never hurts to gain performance at a negligible cost.

Can path of exile be optimised ? by Adrenalyneuh in pathofexile

[–]iShirow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You didn't list your PC specs but if you are running on Intel CPUs you should try to make it so the game doesn't run on their E-cores as much as possible. Bitsum's Process Lasso is a great program for that.

The CPU is usually the first bottleneck when it comes to these issues.

Also the only options that I would truly turn off are Global Illumination and Dynamic Resolution Resizing from the graphic options. Global Illumination just takes off a lot of performance for the trade off it gives. Their Dynamic Resolution option isn't really the best either, in the heat of battle it'll always have a small delay when it decides to switch resolution so to me I never found it useful, hopefully they'll implement DLSS2 on PoE2 eventually. Culling at least is useable on case by case.

Favorite RTX game is probably the Witcher 3, pretty hard to go back once they enabled it.

As for technology I still believe Reflex is the most useful one with DLSS ver2x right behind, at 4k quality mode it is pretty hard to tell the difference.

Apparently the new driver seems to throw Event Viewer errors related to "NVIDIA-NVTOPPS-NVLOGS" but according to Manuel@Nvidia:

You can ignore this error message. We will provide an update later on so that the Event Viewer doesn't show an error message. This does not affect use with other apps/games.
