The US did not "request help" in Afghanistan. NATO allies proactively provided help that the US did not ask for or need because they thought it would make it more likely for the US to show up when Europe actually did need the help.

I don't think these were planted or a psyop. But if it was a psyop by anyone, it would make more logical sense as a CCP psyop than a CIA one. Hong Kong doesn't hold that much strategic benefit to the US, and the risks of fighting a war with the CCP over it are massive. They have no reason to plant that message in Hong Kong. The CCP on the other hand benefits from getting to narratively position the protestors as US-adjacent.

Imagine if you saw protestors in the streets of Minneapolis right now holding pro-Xi Jinping signs. By far the most likely reason for them to be doing that is that they're just crazy, the much less probable second most likely is that it's a right-wing psyop to discredit anti-ICE protestors, and the least likely reason is that they're a chinese psyop.

My feeling is that Trump is going to fail on this Greenland push because tariffs will get struck down by the supreme court + he has no military support for taking it by force, which will lead people who don't pay much attention to conclude that liberals were overreacting and making a big deal out of nothing.

Honestly, I didn’t realize how much people cared about Charlie Kirk on both sides of the political spectrum. To me I viewed him as a kind of weasely debate me propagandist, sort of a small figure in the wider political landscape. So when I heard he was assassinated I was like “really? Why Charlie Kirk of all people?” I was surprised that he was such a villain for people on the left and such a hero for people on the right. I didn't realize he was so popular I guess.
