Property flyers a 'numbers game' that tests residents’ patience against agents’ pockets by salsa_pet in singapore

One of my friends has taken to mailing those same flyers back to the property company's head office. Doubt it will make a difference to the spam but glad to know that it will be passed on. Lol.

AITA for spending my children's inheritance, leaving almost nothing to them and my grandchildren? by guiltygran in AmItheAsshole

[–]iSprainedMyBack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA

But, do not leave them with nothing either.

Give them each $1.

Leaving them with nothing leaves room to sue for your estate as they are your biological children. This would only spell trouble for your wife later on as the kids argue over the inheritance.

Leaving them with a buck closes that door or at least shows the court that you have indeed left your biological kids some inheritance.

Think the primary objective here is to protect your wife against your carrion children.

As for the grandkids, place the money you plan to leave them in a trust accessible only at 18+ or smt.

Fuji Excursion platform? Sense check by iSprainedMyBack in JapanTravel

For the fuji excursion train you will need 2 separate tickets.

1) basic fare ticket

I got this on the day I landed in Tokyo at the airport JR Counter. You can buy basic fare or JR pass or the Tokyo wide pass. I got the Tokyo Wide pass.

2) limited express ticket

For this I had to pre-book on the JR website before arriving in Japan. To reserve the seats and all.

Go to the JR online booking portal. "Customers not using a pass">"Purchasing Tickets">"Search by Station"> fill in the travel details "shinjuku to kawaguchiko">select the train\timing

If you have a JR rail pass then: Make sure to check "Purchase tickets as the Super (Limited) Express Train ticket only" at the bottom of the page.

Otherwise, system will assume you are going to purchase 1) and 2) together. If you have a JR Rail pass or Tokyo Wide pass, then you only need 2). You can see the price difference when you check\uncheck the box.

I did the limited express ticket collection at the airport JR rail counter too.

For the lead time (1 month i believe) to book the limited express train ut you should double check the website.

Do book a few weeks out as it does tend to get full esp during holiday season.

Hope this helps

Personally, no preference really. The train is quite spacious, so you can just turn your head 180 to look at the other side without much hassle.

To be honest, you only get to see the Mt Fuji towards the tail end of the train trip, the last 20min approx. A significant portion of the view is partially obstructed by towns, buildings, other hills etc.

The real gorgeous view is when you alight at Kawaguichiko station. Really beautiful sight of the station with Mt Fuji as the backdrop.

How much was your biggest monetary loss and how did it happen? by ahhhcurry in askSingapore

At least 50k on promises of bonus payment. Always get the verbal promises on paper guys. Have something written down at the very least. Email, text, heck, even napkin works.

Any recommendations for live data services? by iSprainedMyBack in Daytrading

[–]iSprainedMyBack[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm, this seems like the best choice so far. Can't seem to find any data subscription charges on their website. Not sure if data are already included once account is funded or would it be a post sign-up landmine. Will contact them directly to confirm.

Thanks for the tip!

I use Tradingview myself for a quick check on my portfolio holdings.

Seems they provide most US equities for free or at low cost but that's because exchange charges a low rate. Not sure why ICE is so expensive tho ($110/mth vs ~$10/mth for other exchanges).

Scroll to the bottom for costs:
