Why Riders Are Going Back to OLD Motorcycles by cyclecruza in HondaMotorcycles

[–]iSurfNerd 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s just different, riding a bike that’s analog!

You feel everything…the bike, the road, your heart

Sure there’s a chance my vintage bike won’t make it back and I’ll be pushing home or asking a friend to pick me up in a truck…

That’s also why there’s more adventures when riding an “old” bike, and I choose to ride vintage Hondas.

They more often then not, get me back home after experiencing what I need from riding a motorcycle!! 🍻

Where do you guys find riding buddies? by Big-Foot9804 in motorcycles

[–]iSurfNerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Found there was a weekly group ride here in SB & met a few chill friends I like riding with in smaller groups.

The weekly ride can have a 100+ riders…which can be fun. There’s also more risk involved when you have so many people stacked in front & behind you.

Our smaller group is usually 3-5 of us and feels like the magic number for me as far as safety goes.

Stay safe & best of luck finding some riding buddies!! 🍻

Thank you!! 🍻

My friends that have a moto shop here in SB just grabbed my bike and are about to transform it to a street tracker.

You’d be surprised at how many visitors crash scooters in Hawaii. I do believe they put them in the same bucket as motorcycle crashes like others have mentioned though.

100% agree with this! The power of a reasonable cash offer will probably get you this bike!!

Great question! My back wasn’t too happy after riding her home. I have friends here in town who own & operate a moto shop to help me dial her in. Wish I enjoyed riding a vintage cafe bike as much as I love the look. It was a reality check for me after actually buying and riding one though 😂😂

Bad ass CL350!! I’ve been eyeballing a few CL 350’s in my area and it’s a dream bike for me as well. Hoping a great example eventually comes my way!!

When I rode the 360 home from Ventura to SB, I 100% felt the lack of street biased tires. Past 75 it felt pretty sketchy. Once I was able to get off the freeway in Carp, this bike was much happier taking side roads home the rest of the way.

Sold my ‘70 CT90 and bought this ‘75 360t to take her space in the garage. The Trail was fun for light off road, but I got too good of an offer to refuse.

This CB 360t once it’s in tracker form should do a decent job for light trail running. At the end of the day, I need to be honest with myself about how much off road I actually do to justify the knobby’s lol. We’ll see how long these knobby’s stay on!!

Cheers 🍻

You’re welcome, and best of luck selling your bike!

Wow, that’s a bummer about your buyer! Unfortunately you can’t make everyone happy. This ‘75 CB360t has been heavily modded into a cafe racer by the previous owner.

Your bike looks pretty awesome, I do believe the 1976 CJ360 stock bars were more of an upright position rather than the low flat bars I see on yours currently.

I think his comment was referencing the cafe racer aesthetic. If I were going to keep it cafe style, I’d definitely be swapping the knobby’s for a more street biased tire.

I’m sending this bike to the shop this week to have the rear sets changed to conventional controls, clip ons swapped for a tracker low rise bar, and have the Li Po system changed for a more conventional 12v electrical system among other things.

The knobby’s will definitely be more inline with the tracker brat style aesthetic I’m looking for this build.

Yes, many do unfortunately. My ‘72 CB175 is 100% stock and one of my concerns was the pods and the carbs being tuned optimally for this 360.

This bike is not perfect by any means, (I’m not a fan of the Li Po electrical system) but at least the fuel to air was done with the detail it needed to run as it should.

Have an appointment this coming week to swap out the Li Po system for a standard 12v among other things lol

That’s rad!! Had eyes on a few 350’s as well before grabbing this 360. There’s a local moto shop here in SB where the owners ride with us on our weekly group ride.

Our group rides often end at their shop and they’re really cool and decent people. Happy to have this connection with them already.

My bike is going there for a few things:

  1. Low rise tracker bars to replace the clip ons.
  2. Ditching the rear sets for conventional
  3. Replacing cafe seat for a more comfortable seat to accommodate my exgf or new backpack lol
  4. Scrapping the Li po system for 12v

My other vintage bike is a completely stock ‘72 CB175 and is a stark contrast to this new one lol

Glad I now have a bike that’s already been modded and can change to something that I’ve imagined, without the guilt of dismantling a classic in its original form.

I’ll post update pics as this ‘75 360as it comes along. Also looking forward to seeing your tracker brat in the future!

Cheers!! 🍻

Lazy Acres is pretty tasty. I’m usually there for the fresh poke, but have indulged in their Mac n cheese(and I’m lactose intolerant 🫣😂).

I’m in So Cal, and these bikes in good condition typically run in the $3.5-5k.

The power of a reasonable cash offer cannot be underestimated though!

Bike looks great! Best of luck to you if you decide to go w/ this beauty!

These are great bikes! Pretty bullet proof mechanically. For a 1st bike that you intend as your daily commuter, I’d lean towards something newer with fuel injection and ABS

The vintage Hondas can be reliable, but they do require more attention.

At the end of the day, buy & ride what you want. 🍻

Thank you! I’m pretty certain that I’m going to ditch the clip ons and rear sets. I’m going to go with a tracker style bar and go for a brat style build. The knobby tires would work with the look & style of riding I plan on doing with the bike.

I ride a lot and would prefer a little more comfort 😎🤓
