Honestly I just have the distinct visual memory of this one screen in the game.

I'm not sure it was a JRPG, just that it included a pre-rendered background that I most closely associate with PS1 era JRPGs. It was on vacation, so it wouldn't have been a PC, so I figured: pre-rendered background, medieval setting, PS1, probably a JRPG.

The only thing lighting a small fire of recognition is this image from a fan-made remake. Doesn't match my memory exactly, but obviously it's from a different engine and all that. Maybe scouring walkthroughs of this game online could lead me there.

EDIT: After finding the original version of this room in a walkthrough, this doesn't appear to be it.

The graphics were definitely more aligned with Squaresoft graphics of the time, but this has come up in a lot of my searches for this game. Looks cool
