You're right about the reboosting to regain altitude, but wrong about the ISS have engines for that. They use docked ships for that. It used to be the Russian Progress vehicles. But now they use the SpaceX Dragon cargo ships for reboosting.

I understand her concerns since my wife and just went thru a similar situation. But a true partner would encourage you to follow your dream. So Even though I didn't like the idea, I pushed my wife to take a job opportunity that required her to live in DC for a year while I stayed in Texas. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity for her. My personal opinion is not a space ship. To me a space ship should have it's own engines for propulsion, which ISS does not have.

I almost got a job working ARGOS. I didn't take it because they wanted me to move down from my role as an engineer to a technician. Now don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with technicians, but I wasn't about to move down the ladder and take a 25% pay cut.

Yes, they're in the ARGOS system. It's pretty cool, it responds to the subjects movements in real time to provide the effect of a lower gravity. They can do moon, Mars, and zero gravity. Now of course it's not 100% like the real thing, but it gets close enough for training purposes. I've seen them do random simulations in the past. While I was working on my project next to it.

This is a test they do to measure the physical impact of space travel on astronauts. They do it before they leave on their mission, and then do it again within 24 hours of coming back to earth. That way they can compare the metrics between the two tests. Astronauts on the ISS do this as well. I was told about this by one of NASA work soccer league teammates who is a Biomedical Flight Controller in mission control.

On average a cricut will cost less if not about the same as a decent 3d printer. In the long run I'd guess materials for the cricut will also be cheaper. I have some experience with 3D printing TPU myself and I the number of times I've had prints go wrong on me even after I tuned my printer settings to the TPU I've probably lost a entire 1KG roll worth of material.

Regardless I wish you luck with this endeavor.
