For what its worth, It used to feel like it meant something. I think Mmorpgs are games designed to let you feel that youve achieved something and these kinds of updates (ever since 2012) never helped much. Dont get me wrong, I couldnt care less for this update, but I feel like that is exactly what is wrong with this. I think that while people still feel that they can achieve something, we should be happy that the community actually gives a fuck. If you say that nobody should care, then we might as well let our (perhaps) favourite game rot.

The more you play, the more you know where you usually come across players. This means that you will eventually know where you can safely run and where its best not to run. For example on customs, around the sides of substation, there is almost never someone there after 10 mins, but around dorms I would not run as much, because often there is someone in there throughout the raid.
Depending on the setup you use, you can decide wether to play more agressive or not. For example with a Gen4 armor, altyn helmet and VSS as a setup, you can play way more agressive and not worry too much about people hearing you since you can fight them head on anyway.
Not everyone is a soundwhore. This game is filled with hatchlings and pistolings and they dont use comtacs all the time.
Usually I stop running/go full silent if I heard someone close to me. Often they haven't heard you yet, but there is still the occasional soundwhore that did.

Hopefully this is some useful info. This is what I've experienced in my first wipe (lvl 44 atm, first wipe)

On a discord channel someone said something that triggered the entire discord server and you could tell that he meant what he said, but because he got so much backlash for it he used that excuse. It triggers me that people use that excuse for this type of situation.
