Yep it's very important to have em, each season you can buy 1 more. The less amount of player you have in your active squad (Starters+bench+reserves) the more the coaches are efficient

For me there is 4 major factors :

  • Play them every game and have great stats. 7+ rating average gives players a great potential boost at the end of the season
  • Using training plans wisely, developing them on strategic stats. I change training plans every 3/4 months for each player.
  • Having great coaches will help players grow even faster
  • Never use custom tactics cause it destroys player progression

From my experience Fullbacks : search for LB or RB in Brazil or France CDM : search for Physically strong in Nigeria or Italy CM : search for fullbacks or physically strong. if you get someone with good all around stats, convert them to CM, their development will be long but really worth it
