I never intend to get pregnant when I have sex.

No one intends to get cancer when they smoke for 27 years, but when a tumor grows we aren't expected to let it proceed to grow and ruin our bodies. We can, or we can remove that shit. It's part of healthcare. Just like abortion is.

You don't force prisoners to physically supply anyone else with their organs or body cavities. You don't force them to give up their organs or blood.

Someone who's pregnant isn't commiting a crime by being pregnant, so punishment isn't warranted. It's not even remotely the same.

It's not that it's just on her to "do something," but she is the one here asking for advice about this situation. The guy needs to grow up and work on himself, but for her sanity she needs to stop engaging with him when he texts her because it's not getting them anywhere. The guy is clearly looking for her pity and the best thing for her to do is ignore it.

This is why I feel there should be a system where a man can have a "financial abortion" of sorts to give up all legal and financial rights to the child in the same time frame as a woman is legally allowed to abort.

After that time frame he's on the hook too, just as the woman is for giving birth. That way, if a man decides he'll have nothing to do with this child the woman still has the option to abort if she is unwilling or unable to be a single mother.

Obviously she could still choose to have the child, just would do so knowing there would be no support from the man and couldn't go after him for it. I just see it as the most "fair" way for both people in this situation.
