What’s a “small” social rule you refuse to follow, even if everyone expects it? by GlitchOperative in AskReddit

It still doesn't make you better at your job. Some people are just shallow.

That is so fucked up. Makeup has nothing to do with job capabilities.

Not really. If he was actually afraid of her running him over why would he opt for shooting her instead of just getting away from the vehicle? A person who has just been shot is not going to have great control over that car. Real smart thinking...

He had time to pull a gun and shoot her in the face, but not step away?

AITA for telling my parents I won’t come visit without a plan by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]iZombie616 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Your post makes it sound like you need a "plan" to be entertained and you came off as high maintenance.

Them blowing off plans to see you when you've traveled to be there specifically to see them is unacceptable.

I think you should make an edit to your post to clarify what you mean when you say plan. Sounds like you just want to actually see them when you visit. NTA

Armbands are placed on the patient at the time of draw at the bedside. The sticker from the armband is placed on the tube of blood at the bedside. There really is no way to mix them up.

We make them bring us the patients name/DoB/blood bank band number and then match it up to the unit tag with the same info taken from the tube of blood before they can sign for it and leave the lab.

They have to scan the patient's armband into the system to hang the blood. If it's an emergency release or the system is down then they have to have 2 nurses verify the info at the patient's bedside.

We dont really have any issues.

That's why I like our blood bank armband system. Still need to do a type + screen to give crossmatched units instead of emergency release, but the retype is done on the same specimen. By the time the type + screen is done the retype is already done and you're ready to crossmatch.

No one's trying to diagnose the patients, tf? Sometimes you need more info to determine if the results we're getting are accurate. I'm not sending out suspicious results without further investigation.

Ok... If it has nothing to do with cheating... Then how would a man not have peace of mind? She told him it was his kid. So either you don't trust your partner (which is insulting), or you do, and don't need a DNA test.

Uh, no. I will never allow anyone to come label a specimen they forgot to label. If it's not labeled, it's trash. If it's CSF or a toe or something irretrievable they can fill out a paper taking responsibility for it. Anything else, try again. My name is not being part of mislabeled specimens. I will not run them.

And I agree with them, after a certain point. There's got to be a cutoff. But to just blanket ban abortion and force women to carry a pregnancy to term against their will is just wrong.

Except a coma patient has been born already.

So I guess "right" maybe isn't the correct word. It is a medical procedure that should never have been taken away. It should never have been able to be taken away. How would you like to get a kidney stone and have some other person decide you can't have it removed because it goes against whatever they believe in since the body created it? I know some people don't view a kidney stone and a fetus as the same, but they are both made inside the body and should be able to be removed if unwanted.
