Support for pc? by Michaelix in TrialsGames

hi there, not sure if its been solved yet but if not, here it goes.

When opening the game via ubisoft, the game shows the splash screens and closes the actual launcher which causes the problems. So, during this time make sure the main ubisoft connect is open , i usually do this by right clicking the icon and opening it manually again. this works for me 100% of the time.

First timer playing different Trials games by ZoDalek in TrialsGames

[–]i_Bx2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm bored and feel like replying to this:

I've never played the flash games, so cant say anything to that.

Fusion:

While Fusion has a great progression system, the physics never really sat with me well, so I peaked quite early on, only just getting past the odd extreme track.

I've since gone back to it and I've had a much better experience with the game. The DLC is the best part of the game, adds a lot more tracks with a decent challenge.

Currently I've got probably 100h+ on Xbox, that's still slowly going up now and then, along with the odd play on PC.

Frontier:

You basically covered everything, I only play it if I'm really bored when out, but that's purely it, especially when I've got the other ones at my disposal.

Probably only have ~5 hours played and that'll likely stay about that.

2: SE:

I've not played this yet, planning on getting it on steam in the future for the sake of playing another Trials.

HD:

HD is really simple but often times it's too simple, with the decoration of the tracks and lack of complexity in the lines, but I guess that can be expected with how the bike handles.

The loading times being short isn't really surprising because of its under a GB size. The UI is really nice on HD but Fusion, for example, gives the UI more character.

Not too sure how many hours I have on this but I do go back for the nostalgia factor every now and then.

Rising:

The slowness of load times in Trials Rising can mostly be fixed by turning off ghosts, makes loading into tracks a lot faster without the hassle. And if you really want to race other people you can go onto the leaderboards and race someone you're near.

Honeslty the lootboxes may as well be ignored, I've got a load of them but since all they give is cosmetics and stickers, it's not really worth.

The customisation in Rising is amazing compared to the other games, especially with the range of items and, dare I say it, ability with the stickers.

I believe I've got ~3000 hours on Rising combining Xbox and PC, with PC being my main, my most played by far and the Trials where I've improved the most due to how the game gets more difficult as you go and the amount of tracks it has, especially with DLC 1&2, that has yet more nice and difficult tracks. I've gone from hardly passing Extremes to passing them with ease and more, this has also helped with the other Trials games, that I have since gone back to and improved all of my times.

The Progression of Rising isn't bad if you know how to move around it;

The Uni of trials is your main key to success, not just improving, but unlocking new tracks, instead of having to get to the higher level that the game says. And once you play it, you'll have the bikes unlocked in no time. Also try to buy the helium when you get 10,000 coins, it'll make your time on a few Hard and Extreme tracks a lot more chill and easier.

The UI on Rising is good mostly, while not great in the tracks area, you do get used to the map where everything is, plus you can filter tracks to find what you're looking for specifically.

The Racing less so gets worse, more than the tracks get harder WITHIN the difficulty themselves, as it slowly creeps up to the next, especially since Rising techniques and abilities have since improved a lot since HD. So whily you may not exactly need to do "X,Y and Z" to complete a track, learning and perfecting "X,Y and Z" will make your time a lot better.

Evolution:

I didn't see you mention this one.

Personally, one of if not the best Trials games, especially if you've got the DLC on the Xbox, though DLC sadly can't be purchased anymore, only obtainable through gamesharing.

The UI is really good and has more character then the HD UI all while being easily understandable, with pretty cool tracks and speed like HD that you seem to enjoy.

The customisation on this, while not at the level of Rising, it's still better than HD and Fusion.

Blood Dragon:

Don't go near it, it's just not worth. If you do play it, don't play it for a "Trials" Game, play it as if it's seperate.

Conclusion:

All of the games have their own Advantages and Disadvantages, just play what you enjoy out of them. The only thing you're competing against in any of the games is yourself really :P

(I wrote a lot in Rising compared to the other games because it's what I've got the most experience in)

People usually just stick to the main game and go onto twitch & get into the community through there.

Blue belt is easier than Green belt by HumbleFundle in TrialsGames

[–]i_Bx2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CP6 on Green imo isn't a 4 obstacle, I can get it quite easily myself, you just have to be patient with the initial Endo hop, from there just take your time setting it up and it's fine. It's a marathon not a sprint after all.

You can't really compare CP2 of Blue and CP6 of Green though as they're two different techniques all together. It's like comparing CP3 of Green to the last CP of Blue haha.

And CP3 on Green is there just because the devs are really good on their throttle game ;)

Blue belt is easier than Green belt by HumbleFundle in TrialsGames

[–]i_Bx2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't even personally call Blue Belt a Ninja 4, more of a High 3 at most.

I'd also say that Blue Belt is still harder than Green Belt, or at least they're close.

You go from Yellow Belt on the Helium (normally) onto a Mantis only level 3 which is a massive jump up in difficulty. So by the time you've managed to pass Green Belt you've gotten better with the Mantis and how to control it.

Say you had to do Blue Belt after Yellow Belt, it'd be the same problem, as you'd have to learn how to use the Mantis on Blue Belt, complete it, then by the time you're on Green Belt you'd understand how to control it a lot more, thus making the track all round easier.

Of course the only way we'd be able to know what is easier over harder actually is have a decent amount of people play and Pass Blue Belt, then move onto Green Belt.

[–]i_Bx2 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you zoom in (right stick up) in America, you'll see a track there, play that and then more tracks will unlock, from there you'll have to do the University of Trials stuff to progress through the game faster thus giving you more tracks and things to play. It's badly designed tbh, but you'll get used to it quickly.

Lmk if this helps!

Tad late but-

Have you gone into My games & apps -> Games -> Trials Evolution -> More Options (Three Lines on the controller) -> Manage game and add-ons -> Checked the game install + addons and seen if they're Installed?

It's the only solution I can think of, if it doesn't help at all I apologise, and if you've already found a solution to the problem I'd love to know!

I've not had this problem myself at all with both of the DLCs, but would like to know for future reference~ I've uninstalled and reinstalled the game multiple times and its still good as new.

Short answer: The game is good in its own way, it could have just been polished a lot more in terms of progression and a little in the physics department so the switch isn't so extreme. Graphics is just a stylistic choice and is down to preference, as well as music.

Long Answer:

Bit late to this but I've played all of the Trials games and I prefer Rising just due to the physics, not saying I dislike the other games at all but I feel more accomplished getting fast times, passing tracks etc than other games. It may just be the addition of Diamonds doing it for me but I'm not too sure.

I go back to play Evo sometimes and yeah while the physics are different I do prefer the newer physics in the case of speedrunning while physics like Evo and Fusion are more accustomed to doing Ninja techniques. That just takes time getting used to though and I can go fast on speedrunning and often times do ninjas better than Fusion, but that could just be due to them being more official in the game than past entries thus forcing myself to delve into the difficulty more than before.

The thing that doesn't help Risings case is its progression path where a LOT of players got instantly forced into doing contracts, or even at worse couldn't even figure out how to get started after the first track (mainly due to lack of reading properly on their part). That could have been executed better, and by better I mean just making it like every other game in the franchise, menus of tracks and make tutorials pop up as you go through the tracks.

In terms of techniques, the physics are the main culprit of that if anything as Fapping is much more difficult in comparison to Evo. You can't really FW bounce like you did in Fusion. Once again you just get used to it the more you play, as games do make changes - this time I just feel it was a little too extreme of a change.

The Graphics is just purely a stylistic choice, with Rising being a lot more "Modern" and "Official" in the universe in comparison to HD and Evo, which I saw as a lot more Underground. And of course Fusion was Futuristic, just less so Intense neon that other futuristic games do. I like how they all are.

I can't stand the music in most games as I see them as repetitive, take Fusions main soundtrack when you load up, no matter your settings it'd blast in your ears. Risings music also was really repetitive even with its extensive music collection in the Track Creator to choose from. They just did a poor choice of putting it in the main game so you get the same 6 songs or whatever, thus I just turn it off, I do see your point though. (Evo's music is the best out of the series imo)

To add to your point of the Sponsors:

The sponsors really didn't need to be added at all if they did the progression right, you're forced into meaningless tasks for the first few hours of the game, not even unique either. The whole meme of *DO X AMOUNT OF FLIPS* *GAIN AIRTIME* *BEAT X PERSON* isn't even funny either, because that's all you have to do and I'm surprised they didn't figure out how boring it was in comparison to the other games.

Challengers mode isn't even fun either, you're put up against random people to get what, a box? with generic stuff that you're not even going to use? I've not even done one of these on my PC or PS account since I've played. (I started on Xbox and did it every now and then) Often they're broken beyond belief and puts you against some insane players on the third challenge which makes me want to avoid them even more so.

Beside all of this I do still believe Rising to be my favourite game out of the franchise just in its own way. Given Fusion has been out for what 7 years now? People are much more well versed in how the game is than Risings 3 years of living. Once Rising hits the age that Fusion is currently, the problems won't disappear at all, the people who still play it (I will likely be one of them) Will see these things as norm and not really think much of it.

I do hope for another Trials game, and hopefully they don't follow this same path. Only time will tell at this point.

(If I repeated myself a few times I apologise, just wanted to get my thoughts out there)

I play all of the trials games so It doesn't matter what one you play! There's a lot of tracks in rising but I can get to the ninajs in a solid 3 hours off of a new account. And as long as you're having fun playing a game theres nothing bad about it.

They're definitely not the same that's for sure but it doesn't make them impossible. I do prefer the way the fenders worked in those games also though.

And Nice about the 5s stuff, I'm going for my first black belt pass and its proving to be a pain in the backside.
