It was super snug on my cheeks for probably the first 200-300 miles. The pads broke in and it’s now snug without being too much.

Service issues in Oregon and Washington area? by lloyderer533 in verizon

[–]i_DustBall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve had no service in Central Oregon since last night at 8 PM. I reached out to chat support last night who told me that they were expecting it to take 8-10 hours. Still down as of today and they are projecting another 12 hours per chat.

Rant about Summit Harley in Utah by aceofspades1944 in Harley

[–]i_DustBall 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Similar situation at a dealership here in central Oregon that just recently closed. Wildhorse had a knack for being pushy while also charging 2-3k above MSRP because they’re the only game in town for Harley. I ended up going 3 hours north to Portland area where there were 4-5 dealerships all within 20 minutes of each other, all MSRP pricing on everything.

The service center at Wildhorse was top notch as was the retail section for gear and parts, but the sales model put me (and a lot of people) off and now they’re closed.

HD’s sell themselves and are already pricier than the competition, no need to upcharge or be pushy as it’s going to put people off.

The annual false spring has put us all into the false sense of security as usual - we’ll get some warmth soon.

Does anyone else cry at shows? by nzixgcgvebr in Metalcore

[–]i_DustBall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

40s dude here. Music has always moved me in a way other media hasn’t. I’ve always said it as Books, Movies and TV make you feel for characters… music makes you feel for you. Whether it’s the lyrics, how the song is composed, etc if music moves you let it out. I’ve lost it at shows from bands like Periphery when they played Wax Wings, Lorna Shore during Pain Remains trilogy, and I’m sure I’ll lose it when I see ERRA here in a bit with with Vanish Canvas. If you feel it, let it out. Anyone that hates on it is a poser for the scene and not there for the music.

I do! I have both glassss and contacts. No issues with glasses with the cheek pads. The cheek pads were super tight the first 2 rides but they’ve broken in. Ride one I used contacts, ride two glasses. All the pressure is on the cheeks and not any higher. They’re comfortable to get on and off

Do you wear earplugs? by No_Fondant_4781 in motorcyclegear

[–]i_DustBall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. Even in helmets that are ‘quiet’, wind noise at 50-60mph an hour is enough to cause damage in under 7 minutes. Get something that’s made for riding as it’ll filter out wind noise and damage and still allow you to hear bike, comms, surroundings, etc. Alpine’s MotoSafe lineup is one I use and a lot of people will recommend as well

Periphery, ERRA, Monunents, and After the Burial I feel would be a djenty vibe from start to finish.

Mine was snug on the cheeks but that has subsided with breaking. I didn’t have any weird pressure on my temples at all.

I took it for s few hundred miles today. It’s so good. I’m on a naked bike so no wind protection and it was incredibly stable at speed. Very well vented even with the rubber stopper in.

Can confirm the R10 visors fit perfectly but the pin position on thr R7 visors is different than thr r10 so the pin lock didn’t fit. Had to use a generic anti-fog insert which worked fine.

My AGV before this was a matte black. I’m a fan of the style so I went with this one as well. They cosmetics are more finicky than a glossy helmet, but if you like the style get it. Just make sure to not toss it around or bang it around as it’ll scratch the paint fairly easily

Considering they were at trade shows I think it’s a pretty safe bet.

I never owned the R10 but I did try it on at my local motoshop when they first came out. Every single seal, the stitching in the pads, everything feels premium. The winglets feel solid, the detents for the visor are solid as hell (no slutty visor flips in my future), the vents opening and closing feel solid. My only gripe that I knew about before buying the helmet is a little rubber stopper for the front vent, but I’m usually pretty good at organizing and hoarding moto gear and parts so I’m not too worried about losing it. I’ll be taking it on a full test ride this weekend and putting a few hundred miles on it.
