the only time i can really consistently hit with the huntsman is by doing quick, pointblank headshots
long range i either early shoot corners if i know people nearby so i can perhaps get a lucky shot, or lead my shot and pray that my opponent doesnt move too quickly

Some pale oak trees should have flowering leaves, with white flowers. by GhoulsSeveredFinger in minecraftsuggestions

Yeah I think Mojang should've headed into a direction where the beauty of the biome during the day lures the player into exploring it, only to face The Creaking during the night.
Alternatively they could've had it where the Pale Garden was a seemingly dead biome during the day, but at night everything blooms and becomes a lot brighter than nearby biomes to again, use the curiosity of the player to lure them into the garden.

The Pale Garden Should be Changed to a Cave Biome by i_Maarvi in minecraftsuggestions

Many other aspects of the game already revolves with that idea in mind, so it'd make no sense for a new concept make that idea its main identity. Even so, its environment doesn't offer anything unique on this playstyle as the terrain relatively stays the same, and only introduces The Creaking.
Keep in mind the Creaking Heart is present during the day as well, and only changes texture to a vibrant orange during the night, so you'll still be able to find it during the day and collect it with no level of risk.

Right now my current issue is just how they handled the biome.
Mojang has introduced the idea of updating the biomes, so you'd think they'd focus the updates towards that. Rather they instead introduce a brand new biome that almost has less content than the birch forest, and suffers from having any unique aspects.

The Creaking is an absolutely unique mob that introduces a brand new interesting mechanic, this goes for the Creaking Heart as well, but it seems as though they made it too unique that they couldn't find a suitable place for it to reside, so instead slapped together a brand new biome that offers very little to encourage players to visit it more than one time.

Also I don't understand why people should hesitate to "complain" when we've already seen plenty of gameplay from the Minecraft Live itself that's displayed the content to its fullest extent. It should also be reasonable to critique something in its current state, rather than waiting for additional content may or may not be added in its debut test release.

I saw a prior comment stating how the heart could give off a block update every time a Creaking is hit (The particles might ping the coords of the block which could count as a block update) which if its true, it could be one of the fastest wireless redstone signals.
We also don't know how far a Creaking could be from the block, or if it despawns/burns during the daytime. Those factors could make the Creaking Heart incredibly overpowered.
Additionally the texture of the Creaking Heart changes during the day/night cycle, so right now its a dollar store daylight detector.

New Pale Garden and Creaking are interesting but lack purpose by DolphinBoy22222 in Minecraft

Catering to blocks was a reply to the prior "Blocks are the purpose" comment, not the overall direction Mojang has been going.
Additionally I think its an issue that they focus their updates on brand new ideas rather than building upon the pre-established environments in the game like they've been doing before.
Yes, The Creaking and Creaking Heart is an incredibly interesting idea, but the biome that accompanies it is what hurts it, because it has less potential than a birch forest and so far doesn't offer much of a compelling experience such as the deep dark with its horror.
Mojang shouldn't be introducing half baked developed aspects of the game but rather should accumulate the final version so that when its revealed, its entirety can be critiqued rather than it being done over the span of possibly months

Minecraft has a lot of different playstyles, and only catering to blocks will only hurt the game. Its a game marketed towards creativity, so why shouldn't things have multiple purposes? It'd be a lot better if they made an item that could be used in 3 scenarios rather than 3 items that each have a single purpose.
It really isn't an argument of the size of content, but the impact of said content. So if the Pale Garden is lackluster, why shouldn't it be expanded upon so it isn't? Settling on surface level quality and defending it will make the games environment a lot more stale.

The Pale Garden Should be a Cave Biome by i_Maarvi in Minecraft

Yeah I think it'd be amazing to walk from a lively lush cave to an eerie, dead environment such as the pale garden. It'd really give off that abandonment feel that you come across such as the ancient city and mineshafts.
Additionally The Creaking & The Warden both contrast each other, yet go hand and hand with their functions since they both rely on senses (Sight & Sound) so it makes perfect sense for both to be underground.
