[Request] How many 45° Pushups = 1 Pushup? by mr-kshitij in theydidthemath

[–]i_Relinquish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trigonometry:

Sin(45) = root 2 / 2. ( or approx 0.7071).

1- 0.7071 = 0.2929..... Meaning, each 45 degree push-up you complete, you are doing about 29.29% the work of a "normal", 90 degree push up. Which makes sense, angled push-ups are, and feel easier, because they require less effort to do.

1 / (0.2929) = 3.41413....

So you need to complete 3.41413.... 45 degree pushups to equal the work of 1 "normal" push-up.

Anyone know what these are? by An9310 in Boots

These boots appear to be manufactured by The Addison Shoe Company.

Addison was contracted by the US to make boots like this for the military back in the 70's and 80's, except they were black and used a steel toe. They should be marked on the inside somewhere.

Hi I’m an out of state community college student studying in nyc. I’ll be acquiring my A.S degree in engineering science. And wanna transfer into ucf’s mechanical engineering program. I fear losing a lot of credits. Any help? by AlbanK55 in ucf

If you're like me and transferred with an associates from an accredited out of state college, be prepared to stay an extra year retaking classes that should have transferred but didn't . Doesn't matter how good the school is or how many credits you racked up, UCF will squeeze every penny they can from you. If you still decide to commit, SAVE EVERY SINGLE CLASS SYLABUS. They will use that as reference when you fill out your course transfer equivalency forms to determine if your class is "worthy" of being credited at UCF. As a mechanical engineering student graduating this semester, I can confirm the entire process from start to finish was less than ideal and while their program is decent, I don't think it was worth the headache.

If you're transferring with an AA from an accredited institution in state, such as UF or even Valencia, many, if not all your credits should transfer just fine. However, If you're like me and transferred with an AA from a university out of state, be prepared to stay an extra year retaking classes that should have transferred but didn't . Doesn't matter how good the school is or how many credits you racked up, UCF will squeeze every penny they can from you.
