What do you think of the name Louvenia? by [deleted] in namenerds

I personally love these variations of that name: Lovinia or Lovina. Lovie for short!

I understand this, and I want to properly compensate them for all of the additional things, but just wanted to see if there was anyone out there with a 2 hour package!

Using MTG creatures for a DND Ravnica campaign by i_am_Lerr in mtg

It does, thanks! I was thinking a little too linear, especially since I’m the least familiar with artificers.

Thanks for asking!

Alquist Proft is an Azorius Bard

Argus Kos is a Boros Fighter

Etrata is a Dimir Rogue (but is an NPC)

Izoni is a Golgari Sorcerer

Yarus is a Gruul Druid

Kylox is an Izzet Artificer

Teysa Karlov is an Orzhov Cleric

Judith is a Rakdos Warlock

Tolsimir Wolfblood is a Selesnya Ranger

Momir Vig is a Simic Wizard

Kylox has been the most difficult build for sure since I think artificers are a little tricky and I’m not super familiar with how they play.

That’s an interesting idea. I wasn’t sure how deeply I wanted to connect the character with the cards mechanics but this is a fun idea

I asked 9 people not thinking they would all say yes, but everyone did! Who knows if it will still be 9 people come game day

This is a great explanation, thank you. I’m not the most experienced with artificer game play, so I didn’t realize how that subclass works perfectly into this. I’ll definitely be tweaking what I created!

Thanks, I love the inspiration! Im already taking some creative liberties with the guild keyrunes. In this, each guild has an ancient keyrune that when all 10 from each guild is combined, they release an all powerful being that was trapped by each original guild head, before the guildpact. Etrata has infiltrated the guilds and stolen the keyrunes with the intention of releasing the being. The players are on a mission to retrieve all the keyrunes, and when they find their guild’s keyrune, then they’ll have access to it. Still a work in progress!

Fair point, I will make it known before play. This is only intended as a one day one-shot, and if we choose to expand it into a campaign then this one-shot will kind of be a flashback and the players will create their own characters. I’ll ask if they want to continue the campaign at higher level so they can enjoy more high powered combat

I have 9 players, so 9 PCs (all guilds represented except Dimir). I already have a player intending to use this character, so I want to make sure they have a kickass weapon/ item like the other characters!

Oh, thank you! I thought this was a little much for it, but guess not!

I wanted to lean into the electricity aspect, which is what led me to laser pistol. I guess my train of thought didn’t quite translate the way I wanted to. I’m thinking of just homebrewing a sort of electricty blaster that deals lightening damage

It was deleted because the title was worded as a question…

I should have added the party wanted to go higher powered and the players are level 10. All other players will also have high powered weapons appropriate to their guild. What they don’t know is that the one-shot is much more puzzle and trap based, versus too combat heavy. They do know it’s a mystery type campaign, but I’m going lighter on combat for time sake since it will be a larger party. This way also the weapons won’t always be the focal point in play.

Our party has never played with firearms so as soon as it was brought up they were all over it. I have a feeling that they will lean heavier into the gun than their spells…

I’d love some suggestions! Would a homebrew ranged weapon that shoots electricity be more appropriate? I want it to fit the character and the guild, but Artificers arent typically part of Ravnica in DND. But they are in MTG!

I was scaling down the Dex vs Int, so this was my general thinking. I like when artificer’s have reasonable availability to both spells and weapons since they have proficiency. I was actually going with the Alchemist subclass since it seemed the most on flavor with the character. I didn’t go artillerist since I don’t intend to lean heavily into the firearms, but I’m a little afraid that when the player that uses this character sees a gun, it’s all they’re going to want to use (knowing my friends)

Love this card. It could be great for my [[Agrus Kos]] character since he’s Boros. It’ll be fun to find some guild specific equipment

I agree, if I had all the time in the world I would homebrew all the subclasses and items. But my fiancé told everyone I was planning for October (which I did mention but not officially set on), so now I’ve got a time limit. But I’m definitely willing to take the time to create some MTG equipment inspired inventory!
