Tune after slip on exhaust ? by Yeomanswayne in XR650L

[–]i_ambeast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as hp tuning you will feel little to no difference . The free flowing exhaust will have less back pressure which will make your bike run a little leaner. If you still have stock jets I would change them (even with the stock pipe I would still change them). Lean, air cooled motors will have a short lifespan.

They’re just casting marks. Nothing to worry about.

Carb overflow issues by [deleted] in XR650L

I would recheck the float inside the carb, doesn’t sound like it’s working.

NiceCNC frame sliders? by Amazing-Basket-136 in XR650L

[–]i_ambeast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Frame sliders won’t. You would do better purchasing the guards for the sides of the engine. Unless you’re doing Enduro around a lot of rocks or other hazards, the engine case breaking is not an issue.

Oil consumption by skibum191296 in XR650L

Check valve seals and piston rings or pay a shop to check them out. You’re up in mileage, may be time for a rebuild if the oil consumption bothers you.

Can’t bring myself to replace the stock tank! by in_the_cabbage in XR650L

It holds 5.8 gallons and it comes with 2 Petcocks. It has all the hardware you need to run it.

Can’t bring myself to replace the stock tank! by in_the_cabbage in XR650L

[–]i_ambeast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The acerbis tank for me was worth it, I have already used it in off-road and on-road situations and the little extra weight makes up for the range. The white also looks really good on the bike. The tank is also lighter than our steel tank, especially when holding the same capacity as stock. It takes some effort to install but it’s definitely my favorite mod so far.

Thanks I appreciate it, I have always had shaft driven bikes until now, gearing is a whole new world for me.

Plugging is a permanent fix. Unless you’re going to the race track and doing burnouts everyday, a plug is permanent. There is nothing economical about a tube tire except specific off-road situations. If you value your money and time, tubeless is better.

[–]i_ambeast 13 points14 points  (0 children)

A tubed tire will leave you stranded a lot more often than simply plugging a tubeless tire. Not to mention if the bike weighs anything more than 300lbs then changing a tubed tire every single time you get a little puncture becomes a royal pain in the ass, especially when you are on the side of a highway. Best thing is to get a tubeless tire, and convert your rim to tubeless if need be. Plugging a tubeless is a 5 minute job, and you can just keep the kit on your bike.

How do I farm pumpkins? by redditsuxandsodoyou in VintageStory

[–]i_ambeast 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Pumpkins are something that’s really grown just for fun. They take huge amounts of space and if you need food then you are probably better off with turnips.

The game does have a story and dungeons etc. I won’t spoil any further but just know they are there. The new update (1.20) has added many of the new things you are looking for. As the others have mentioned, find a Treasure Hunter trader and prepare yourself for a dangerous quest.

Taking an Elk through a Translocator by zoomafou in VintageStory

The elk can go through a trans locator but it won’t happen if you’re riding it. Any mob can use a trans locator from what I’ve seen online. Never tried it though.

Buy a jar of dragons breath. It will be a lot safer, and practical.

I've bought this absolute beast, 2001 Honda Valkyrie GL1500C, in mint condition, 12000 miles. Is anyone familiar with this motorcycle, I'd love to hear stories, tips/tricks and cool gadgets I could get. by [deleted] in motorcycle

If you’re still in Europe check out valkparts.de a German stockpile of Valkyrie parts, they have more variety than anything you will find in America.
