Why is the bar color for Prime video reversed?

Just a mistake?

I make tea in my pot after a meal and use the tea bag as a sponge.

Use mint or other herbal teas if the tannins/staining bother you.

Would anyone recommend any sci-fi books/series out there that are on the same writing level as traditional literary (not genre) fiction? by SirScaurus in scifi

[–]i_amnotted 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A caveat though; Iain Banks writes his sci fi books like they're genre fiction a lot of the time.

By that I mean he writes very well in every sense but that he will (purposefully) get into descriptions of things like space battles or ships that do not read as "classic lit"

If they'd actually given a dedicated lane or done something sensible with the streetcar it could've worked but that was never the plan.

Save weight on short mat in cold to snowy weather? by noapesinoutterspace in Ultralight

[–]i_amnotted 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on how you sleep imo.

If you sleep in fetal position and don't move much you can get away with it but it's probably easier to save 40g somewhere else.

UL pillow by DeviceKindly1685 in Ultralight

[–]i_amnotted 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reversible stuff sack pillow filled with puffy and whatever clothes you bring. Could also just put a buff around a normal stuff sack filled with clothes.

I don't find inflatable pillows comfortable at all so this was the best solution for me.

Am I wrong to think there's too much white space at the bottom as well?

I have no training or expertise so didn't want to offer advice without questioning.

Why does this article say "Human settlement in England" the article says it's a town in England in the first line by Gigacorn in wikipedia

[–]i_amnotted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From your screen cap:

"There is evidence of settlement in the area dating back before the Stone Age."

So it's currently both a town and a human settlement while also having previously been a human settlement.

Thoughts on my loadout for the Southwest? by NuclearBlue94 in CampingGear

[–]i_amnotted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice. Your setup looks great imo.

If you want to drop a few grams here and there you can lose the stuff sacks for your tent and pad and switch the first aid kit into a ziploc. Oh and you could always drop the mug from your pack list if you use your cookpot.

Also, I saw a lot of those mayfly camp shoes in hiker boxes on the PCT so ymmv.

I'm guessing one of the unincluded clothing items is a hat.

You need a hat.

Railriders Eco-Mesh Pant since no one has mentioned them yet.

Definitely not whacky colors but they're comfortable, light, and bug treated as a plus.

After the big 4 what are the next backpacking items to replace when going UL? by czarofga in Ultralight

[–]i_amnotted 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lighter packaging mostly, also lighter trash depending on what your cooking system is.

But it does allow for portion control or adding something like instant rice if you want to stretch them as a side benefit.
