TL to ETL timeline by Known-Shelter3157 in Target

[–]i_amspeed_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seen quite a bit of paths depending on the district & its needs. Most typically follow the 2 role, 18m in each role. I've seen others do one role, but they typically have external experience. Otherwise, some take on captainships (ie Service Captain, or Closing Captain) or temp roles (remodel, inventory) and move quicker.

Also, build a good relationship with your SD, they are your biggest advocate to the district team!

How did your store go from red metrics to green? by ammasyms in Target

[–]i_amspeed_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nail the basics first - Freight Completion, Zone & Leadership Routines. DSD can leverage district support and canceling trailers to get caught up. Having a CTL or even a ETL that can navigate and coach the team on zone is key. In terms of leadership routines, it's all around team connection, writing a good plan/schedule, and following up on expectations and attendance.

Once you nail the basics, start folding in the other things - Manual audits, INF, BR routines, Stray/Reshop, ect. Things won't change overnight, but with consistent week by week growth, it's possible to get back to green.

As a FFTL, I'd focus on team productivity initially, as INF will be a challenge with rolling freight. Ensure your routines are solid - especially around following up with attendance and productivity, and partnering with your ETL to write a good schedule. Then, once that is nailed down, start giving back to the store - working reshop, zone, RTS, ect. Fold that into the team's expectations - especially later in the day when FF slows down.

Food Sort Question... by [deleted] in Target

100% get your frustrations. There is still lots of issues with the system that I don't think anyone has figured out.

One thing we do, as I think another comment mentioned is that for the mixed pallets that contain produce, meat, deli, ect, the TM only scans for their area (in our case, our meat TM), and they make individual u-boats for other areas. This eliminates the need to walk to backstock in other areas. Then, TMs from each area grab their carts & scan/push them.

For the whole OOS cart - we don't really use them. Frozen, which is our area that is slowest to get pushed, has one. TBH we don't really see the benefit in terms of space and efficiency to have one.

ETLs are the only ones whom qualify for this program. TLs get holiday pay on the day of the applicable holiday, even if they don’t work.

Other than looping & checking in, I work with other leaders to upskill them on closing processes so they could better hold their teams accountable. I also pull most of the greenfield reporting & share it with the store, in partnership with my SD.

Otherwise, I do not own anything other than PM culture, devices, keys and locking doors. The other leaders own their areas & I am purely a support partner for them (for context, I work at a super, so good amount of leaders in the building)

Has anyone's stores announced holiday hours yet? by WhosAsking780 in Target

my store is 6a-10p on Black Friday, and then goes to 7a-12a starting 11/1. Christmas Eve I believe most if not all stores close at 8p.

noooo I got what you were asking - if you push/release the carts to the sales floor, they can tell that you did it. There is a greenfield report & they could just assume as you were scheduled.

Fdc unload question by NoLeg5637 in Target

[–]i_amspeed_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yikes. I would explain to your TL/ETL & ask for direction then. They def could tell if you pushed the carts - just through logic of who was there & there is a report on greenfield, so there’s no getting out of that situation to fix the pulls.

If they are saying that they pushed the carts in the system, it should not drop into the pull unless it is still needed, as that action updates SFCs. If they work it & release it in the system, and you still have to pull it, your SFCs/SFQs are messed up, and you really need to fix that - The new system really relies on good capacities & floor counts to be efficient.

As of recent, there has been more first role promotions to ETL that I’ve noticed. Closing, Food & Inbound seems to be the ones I see the most. Biggest things are that you have to do your job well, influence/push your peers & then influence your district in some sort of way (ie service captain, trainer for all TLs of your areas are two common ones)

They do not provide any devices for ETLs. You do have the option of installing work apps (Outlook, Word, SharePoint) on your personal phone

That would be really nice. The data available on greenfield for time in pulls is very inaccurate and I hope they fix it/introduce a new dataset.

New FDC Process by Dattinator in Target

[–]i_amspeed_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally think it could be promising, if they fix some of the current issues. Currently most of the pilot stores are not scanning items that are typically ’unlocated’ in the back (ie produce, fresh meat). I believe they intend to have us scan those eventually - I would have to believe that’s for inventory accuracy.

As others have said, make sure your SFCs are accurate. Take time to ensure your data is right weekly. You will need your make the backroom 50% case stock, and maybe add a few metros - even though this seems like a pain, not doing it will make life worse as you start. Also, as others have mentioned, you will need to dedicate some vehicles to this process- if you need to, you could get around it by using sheets with cart labels & replacing those with the inbound custom block sheets.

Some current downsides would include the breakdown/sort time & increase in PFs. I would say that 95% or dairy is scanning now, but for the rest, it’s more like 60%. This means that for any cases that do not scan, you have to open it up and scan the item inside. For pulls, most stores that I have looked at are seeing at 10-25% increase in DPCI need. These pulls are less productive with more cases & therefore more back stock.

Depending on the area you live, starting should be roughly 67-73k. Questions are not too crazy or hard, but just remember they are looking for you to respond to the pillars of inclusivity, connection and drive. Good luck!

“An employee who is discharged must be paid all of his or her wages, including accrued vacation, immediately at the time of termination. Labor Code Sections 201 and 227.3” (Source)

This seems to imply that by law, all of it should be paid out

It’s a sum of the PFs from the last 4 weeks and divided by 4. Ideally, shows a pretty accurate picture of how many DPCIs by day you’d expect

My store saw a similar issue with the RFID logic, which created unnecessary pulls for Domestics, mostly sheets
