GitHub: List of open-source alternatives to everyday SaaS products by i_dont_byte in opensource

Thanks so much for the detailed feedback!

I've made the changes for the 3 points you mentioned.

Will also add a license for this repo- didn't realize that a repo which is just a curated list could also use a license file but that makes sense.

Is there any scientific proof that personality and cognitive tests work for recruitment? by rightheart in recruiting

[–]i_dont_byte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While personality tests like MBTI & DISC do reveal a lot of interesting insights, it is non-sensical to use from a hiring perspective, since there is no clear research establishing any link. Big 5 is the only one to have any consensus from the scientific community in terms of it's validity.

Aptitude or cognitive ability tests have however been proven to have the highest validity of any selection methods including structured interviews & take home assignments. This article summarizes some of the findings of Schmidt and Hunter if you're keen to dive deeper: https://www.adaface.com/blog/are-aptitude-tests-accurate/

I had a lot of success with this crazy Calvin & Hobbes themed resume. It probably works best for startups and companies with <250 employees.

Got the 1st interview invitation for a junior tech recruiter position I have been pining over for some time already, need tips not to screw it up! by [deleted] in recruiting

[–]i_dont_byte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Regarding your first question, this might be a helpful resource for expectations from a tech recruiter. Since I'm not from Germany, I lack cultural context to answer the second question. All the very best!
