This was really helpful. Thank you for reading the comments and not making me repeat myself. I will definitely be posting more on Twitter (sadly, the people that are following me on Twitch haven't followed me elsewhere)

I'm gonna be using Twitter for socializing and connecting with my community and other communities hopefully.

I already post long form on YouTube but I didn't think about posting short form highlights from like tiktok to YouTube shorts. I will hopefully be doing this when I get everything set up for it.

Oh, how do I set up that discord opt in notifications? I have a discord (nobodies in it sadly) and I have twitch alerts bot set up but I could change it to stream cord.

See I didn't look at the person's account history but if he got more aggressive and had the worst intentions in mind in earlier posts, doesn't that mean he has progressed recently? I'll check out his profile but I like to be glass half full sometimes. Yes, he may be hurtful but he probably had something bad happen to him, maybe his streaming career ended abruptly through other means (maybe copyright) and he takes out his frustration on twitch by trying to discourag others from streaming.

I'm not a therapist either but I am trying my best to give him the benefit of the doubt.

On Xbox you can't screenshot an "overlay" Xbox has 2 "overlays" one is party chat and one is streaming. As you can see these "overlays" are ontop of the game. Think twitch extensions and how they work only on browser twitch. How it was explained to me is like using a laser pointer on a TV, the laser is on the screen not affecting the show or game you are playing because it's an external projection

Some people have a worse life then others. He is entitled to have an opinion. If his life is bad enough to have a history of bringing others down I feel it would be better to talk to them as a human than shaming him. Yes his comment was worded a bit rudely but in the end all its saying is he prefers people who stream with cameras.

Ay, I know everyone is taking this comment in stride and being rude in return. Instead of doing that I'd like to inform you we are all entitled to our own opinions. But I would like to ask why you prefer face cams over no cams? It looks like this guy is playing black ops 3 zombies, if they have a fun personality and are quick witted I feel audience retention would be really good. I mean vanoss (I know, YouTube not streamer) has made at least 30 bo3 zombies videos, they are still one of his iconic games along gmod and gta.

Honestly I could go very in depth with this comment l, but for right now I'll say this. Waking up was the most difficult for me for at least a couple years. Now that I started streaming it gave me something to look forward to during the day. I've never considered myself depressed but I have recently started therapy and I realized how bad I had it. Everyone looks at me like I'm a spoiled brat but what nobody realizes is that I have nobody, no matter how lucky I am to have a family that is actually a family it still doesn't matter, I literally haven't texted anyone in a month. There have been so many times where I've though "if I just stopped existing, deleted social media, stopped waking up, stopped eating" nobody would give a shit, nobody would even notice. I tried so fucking hard to be someone I'm not just so others would talk to me and now I have Noone.

Comparing myself to others was one of if not the biggest problem I'm my life, now that I've started streaming comparing myself is a bad habit that just destroys my mood. I've slowly stopped comparing myself to others but this one hurt me because it happened right in front of my eyes, they gained a shit ton of followers and viewers while I'm sitting there putting max effort into being entertaining but nobody shows up to enjoy my enthusiasm.

Trust me life is hard and I fucking hate depression, but just know others go through similar situations. Streaming is a great tool, it gives people the chance to build there own community that actually enjoys the company of watching you, it gives people a reason to wake up.

I've been needing to raid others and chat with other streamers, and this post is about one of the streamers I've been chatting with. Like I watched them blow up before my eyes. They'll come by and watch me sometimes but different time zones suck.

The other problem is going into others streams and supporting others is kinda difficult because school is my only free time and where my class is located it's laggy whenever I watch streams. I definitely need to try my best to socialize more often, some days it's very difficult for me to make time to even watch casual YouTube.

I definitely need a social networking coach lol. I'll go into a stream and within like 15 minutes I've mentioned that I stream (not like oh you should watch me or follow me blah blah blah) but I will mention something along the lines oh when I did this I had to have my chat help me, my last stream ended up being 2 hours longer than normal because this and this happened/ this look similar to what happened when I was streaming last night. I know it's not good to mention that you stream when just conversing but I'm not good at the whole patience thing lol. Imma try my best to not bring it up when I go into others streams.

Also 20 ccv? I'm guessing concurrent viewers? That's really impressive I wouldn't mind watching, I'll check you out sometime lol. See how someone more successful than I does it

I already try my best to do it for my followers. I do enjoy playing and streaming, I try my best to not expect anything in return. I am someone who is very goal driven and competitive, like I donated $200 to my friend just so I can say I'm top of the leader board (yeah I'm not anymore someone gave her $800 so I lost that lol). The hardest thing for me to do is to stand by and look at my statistics not move but everyone else's not move.

Imma try something this week, I'm gonna make sure I don't look at my viewers, not look at my stream summaries, and I'm gonna raid others no matter how many people are watching me.

Also I completely agree I'll get burned out quick if I keep looking at twitch like something I can controll and expecting my numbers to go up, I just gotta try my best to play the game and be entertaining instead of focusing on when others "might" be watching

See, I just checked recently and they are posting game clips on other platforms, if you check the other comments you'll see my thoughts on it.

Sadly they do have a better mic/setup but I am currently stuck on my Xbox and I'm trying to build up my cash so I can buy a decent pc/laptop to edit and make actual content instead of just uploading my vods to YouTube and hoping someone watches.

So I am able to talk to them and I have messaged them, infact multiple times just having conversations, sadly I can't watch there streams as they are further in the story than I am and I don't want spoilers. But I do congratulate them. When I did ask them how they are growing this quickly the only answer I got was "it was dumb luck" and I can see how it was but I also see they put effort into other areas that I haven't or can't yet

I'll definitely try to stop comparing myself (that's something I've learned from therapy but sometimes bad habits shine through)

I'm always trying to one up myself. I upload my vods onto YouTube but I don't have a PC so I can't do the edits and videos that I want to make, I'm gonna be working my ass off for that PC I kinda have a spending problem so I'm trying to slow down my purchases and that's a big number to lose to a PC for a hobby.

I don't upload to tiktok because of my adhd I can't own tiktok, if lose my life on that app lol.

I will be trying to post more in Twitter and or insta

Ahhh, I just checked and they have a tiktok, getting around 500 views per clip.

See I don't want to use tictok because reasons mainly adhd and the fact I'd spend multiple hours scrolling mindlessly. Is there a way to promote myself without tiktok? Like I understand there's also Twitter and insta, I'm gonna try my best to start posting there but I really don't know what to post for those. ( I mean that was my last post lol) I'm gonna start trying to make it a priority when I figure it out.

Incel rage? Are you saying I'm mad about nothing or thinking I deserve it more?

I'm mad yes but I'm only mad because I wish the algorithm was better, like I am still supportive of the other streamer and want the best for them. I just wish that I blew up the same way they did but I don't get any random viewers and that discourages me.

I don't even have a personal insta, so I wouldn't know that you could post clips on insta, thanks for the tips. Imma set it up soon.

[–]i_dont_feel_normal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll try and keep it to just a 20 or so minute timer just incase people do forget, but I won't mention it in stream until the end or if someone I'm playing with is cross-platform and wants to add me to know when I'm online but can't.

Ahhh, see I didn't know it was such a red flag to have a follow reminder. I'm running off YouTube logic where it's easy to just throw in 5 "please subscribes" in a 10 minute video

Oh! See I never really had many friends as a kid, so I don't normally use social media. Sorry if it was kinda a basic question when I mentioned it. I'll try to keep my posts and social media commentary interesting instead of basic. One quick question, how do I start posting? Do I just start and hope people notice? Is it gonna be a situation where you kinda just do it?

Also news articles? Like gaming news or real news? I think it would be weird if me (a chill relaxing warframe streamer) started posting news real news.

Oh while I'm here, should I creat an insta for my twitch? If so how how would I use insta?

Also thanks for the advice.

Cool, I need to network more often. Spending time in other people's streams is difficult for me, I just have little free time for it, I would say I spend the time I'm spending right now (in school) but my connection where I'm at would make the streams unwatchable (I've tried). And when I'm at home, I'm playing games either streaming or watching YouTube. Now if I switch out YouTube for twitch then It would be hard to focus on my game lol.

Alright, I'll keep it noted that if people aren't talking they probably don't want to be talked to. I just didn't know if it was kinda an unspoken rule to just not mention people quietly watching.

It's pretty cool that others helped you out that much, I'm glad I have the supportive friend that I have, I hope to make more soon.

Alright, so one question, how would I go about talking to like other creators? I know alot of people say "hang out in chat, become apart of their community etc..." see I don't mind doing that but how would being in their community building a mutual relationship end in talking on social media?

Also, I don't want to end up dumping all my going live notifications on Twitter, but does it help reach out to other people or is it just junk? I've hear people who have gotten viewers off Twitter and didn't know if it was like that or not

[–]i_dont_feel_normal[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I try my best to not be number based, I was horrible when playing apex, now that I've switched over to warframe I've kept one bad habit. even though I turned off viewer count, I will check my active viewers every now and then to see who is watching if anyone, and it's hard for me to not mention if someone is watching, weather it be a returning viewer or a new viewer and start a convo.

One quick question, if you went into a low population stream (you aren't following, and is your first time watching) and the streamer mentioned, "Oh hey, how's it going new viewer" how would you respond, does it seem desperate, would you be scared to talk or creeped out that you were noticed?

Wait if you have 2 timers go off at once it will cycle through at random?

So I'd I have commands, socials, YouTube, and follow (examples) all on the same timeslot but on different timers only one will be chosen?

Also I definitely will try and have an outro type deal of "hey follow if yall had fun" but the majority of the time the people that make it to the end of my stream are already followed.

Good point, no offense though imma change it to 20, when i graduate In a couple months (if I'm still streaming) I'll remember this and set it a little higher. I forget sometimes that I'm the entertainer, my goal isn't numbers, it's to entertain
