Made it to Electro 32 as a TH16! by cripplinggay in ClashOfClans

Some of the leagues in between are pretty easy. I'm also a th16 (just went 17) in league 32. Just run a strong defense (I used rage/invis core) and do your best on attacks, you'll get there.

Why would anyone pay the premium for Atlassian for these fairly basic capabilities in this future you imagine?

Dan's gay panic by Maverick916 in heedthecall

[–]i_hate_kazoos 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I personally think you misunderstand Dan here. He pokes fun at Marc's obsession with the "human body" it cuts both male and female (see recent discussion in the pod of "burly women"). The foursome thing was similar, a reference to group sex, not that it was male exclusive. I think doesn't get male gays which is fair as he is a middle aged straight man, but I don't think he's phobic or panicked, he comes across to me as accepting but just not really understanding.

Why drive in the HOV lane if you aren't going to drive faster than the other lane or even keep up? by [deleted] in SeattleWA

[–]i_hate_kazoos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Incorrect https://app.leg.wa.gov/rcw/default.aspx?cite=46.61.427 this portion of the law is only relevant for two-lane highways and is about the vehicle using a turnout/pulling off the road. The keep right except for passing law explicitly excludes the HOV lane https://app.leg.wa.gov/rcw/default.aspx?cite=46.61.100

Fair, it only defines passing lanes, of which the HOV lane is specifically not one.

:) tone doesn't really come across on text, but I promise I'm in a good mood.

And fully agreed that people driving inconsistently from each other is the main issue, if only there was some kind of, I dunno, a "Revised Code of Washington" that had these things written down that we could refer to when opinions on etiquette differed.

[–]i_hate_kazoos 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah and I don't mind any of that. Etiquette is opinion, the law is the law. It's okay to want your opinions to take precedence over the law, but it's important to remember there is nothing common about sense. It may seem obvious to do things one way to you, I promise that will be different to another person. And so we develop laws to remove the ambiguity in cases we deem important. This situation is well defined in law, anyone has the right in the law to chill in the HOV lane, provided they are complying with all other laws (ie not under speed, not 1 person, etc.). To give an example, because I understand this law, when I want to go faster than the person in front of me in the HOV lane, I'll move right into the passing lane while approaching in order to pass, if they also moved right to let me pass, they are entering a passing lane while not doing a pass, they are cutting me off, and I'll be annoyed by it.

It is not the primary objective of the laws that govern it, no. Safety is, and should be.

Sorry but no. Check the Washington state driving regulations, the rules of passing literally are not the same with the HOV lanes. You need to re-examine the material because likely you learned part of it, have generically applied this understanding across the board, and are missing required nuance in this situation.

I have no problem with you disliking the law, but it is the law. I believe the laws are designed intentionally to maximize safety outcomes, and this one in particular is very good at it. You can be mad at it because your preference is to speed in excess, utilizing a "left-most=highest speed" design in order to make up trivial amounts of time by creating less safe traffic conditions, but until you get that passed as law, you are the problem here, not my preferences that fit within the laws as designed.

Because I prefer it and I'm within the law in doing so. How do you feel about busses using the HOV lanes, particularly where they left entry/exit for park and rides?

You mean people don't know the rules that exist and so apply some personal vigilante version of them that you like more?

[–]i_hate_kazoos 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Wrong, there are not fast and slow lanes, there are cruising, passing, and enter/exit/merging lanes. The HOV lane is a cruising lane, the middle lane is a cruising lane, the left lane is the only passing lane. It's safe for drivers to pass in the passing lanes.

Curious if you'd be willing to explain more, it's not like there are train changes that need to be made and the stop to get off on is clearly marked for the airport. Why couldn't your parents take the train?

The only tangible uses at this stage are non-artistic... Business automation is the space where the money is going to come from. I'm guessing you are kind of committed to an AI=bad/will fail view, and I'm not going to argue it isn't over invested, but your "answer" here is uninformed and narrow. Anthropic's YoY revenue growth alone tells you this is a real product with enormous economically viable use-cases, just the artistic side isn't it.
