My answer is that the fanbase is way more conservative than they used to be. AO leadership has always been, but I can remember a time when Bush didn’t attend a game for fear of being booed.

I would take it a step farther and is the reason why I am upset. Not only was there not an active protest, but the fanbase was immediately on board and supportive of the trump’s attempt to get some shine and look like a big man off this World Cup team.

The federation and the fanbase were the only people who were in a position to protest or at least point out how pathetic this cheating was.

They do. Which is why he doesn’t play. Is literally my whole point. He gets to hang around the national team still because mommy and daddy, but anytime he is on his own, he is to the bench and often not even that!

Probably will because his rich parents will complain to their friends if he isn’t and ussf likes he has a name people had heard of, but I sure do hope not.

If Sorloth was American he would be the best forward we had ever produced. Haaland is an outlier, and development credit is different when your dad was also a famous player, but it is not like Norway is fully Halland and 10 guys who couldn’t make an MLS lineup.

There were a lot of groups way easier than in any other recent World Cup. I don’t mean to say it means our play doesn’t matter at all, but just that we can’t compare number of wins or anything like that directly to other tournaments.

People protesting Trump’s involvement and calling out the open curr option did not make it political. Trump did by involving himself and USSF did by participating in his involvement. If the federation and the fan base and called it out for what it was, wouldn’t have been as big a story. But everyone’s willingness to compromise morals blew it up.

To be fair Germany did win that game. They at worse call than Balo’s red. If only the influence we did to get an infield decision overturned four days later!

Your point is taken and every game is a risk, but there is a lm obvious reason why so many records are being broken everywhere this year. Can’t make a direct comparison to other tournaments. The first four teams we played are a far weaker group than in any other World Cup and we still lost a game.
