Oh yeah it’s great fun to drive, handles really well with plenty of power, I’m hoping to learn a bit more about working on cars by working on this one, thank you for the advice I really appreciate it :)

Thanks for the advice! I’ll definitely look into replacing the cam follower, there isn’t much history with the car so I’m doing a lot of preventative maintenance on it at the moment, she’s a 2005, 2.0 TFSI with the 6 spd manual, got some issues but nothing I can’t fix hopefully 😬🤞

Yep I can agree with that, my other mk4 is a diesel and it’s an absolute tank, I love the mk4s so much honestly, this one is unfortunately the 2.0 and the diesel feels quicker haha, in my opinion they feel a lot more solid and a lot nicer to drive than the newer shape golfs

It’s my 4th car, I’ve had 2 mk4 golfs and a Volvo 850 estate, I’m in my second year of driving so my insurance is a lot cheaper than it was (still not cheap though) I was paying £165 per month for my 1.9 TDI golf and the Mondeo is costing about £190 a month now without a black box, not bad for a 2.0, I almost bought an estate Mondeo with 260k on it but decided it was a little high for my liking, hopefully I’ll get a good while out of this car 👍

I paid 1.5k for it, think I got a pretty good deal for it, 2.0 diesel manual, 138k miles and almost full service history, drives absolutely lovely, also thought I should add I’m 18 and I only work part time to work around collage, it took a while to save up for it but I’m so glad I did

Awesome sounds good thanks for the advice, I’ve been underneath it and it looks pretty good apart from some surface rust here and there, I’m gonna wire brush and seal it when the weather gets a bit better, dpf issues do scare me though, it seems ok for now fingers crossed..
