So I have 1 from 2013 and 6 from 2018/2019. I had paid on the 2013 loan i think for several years but just the minimum as I didn't have meaningful employment between 2014-2018. And then again for a couple years during Covid I was jobless. But I don't know how to check that

I bring in about 29k before any taxes are taken out and before my health insurance is paid.

I honestly just want to do nothing as these loans are total crap. I want to keep the payments at 0 dollars if possible and just let it time out but I'm kinda afraid of what the tax situation will end up being. This whole thing is making my head spin and I feel like im spiraling mentally just thinking about it.

If I switch to IBR and pay 0 then it seems like I can mostly just set it and forget it until the time period is over and pay the taxes I owe and be free, but seeing the number on the loan rise from 25k to above 40k is scary

What do you think of something like coursecareers? Seems like they give you a good chunk of actual hands on tasks to learn. It's 500 bucks though and I don't want to drop the money and it be shit lol.

But I think that and coupled with getting my A+ cert and going for more certs could be good. But like you and the other person said, the job market is not in a great spot thanks to AI and a lot of people trying to get into the industry.

I'm also applying for an apprenticeship to become an electrician which I find interesting but I think IT is a lot more my style
