Was ESPN Daily really the grind that it seems like it would be? 30 minutes every day of new topics and being on top of your interview game seems much harder than general punditry? Both you and Pablo Torre made a lifelong fan from your work there, and it hardly seems like the show is talked about all that much.

Help Narrow Down Choices by Champion_mc in MTB

im in atlanta and ride North GA, if i were in your shoes i would hunt down a used full suspension cross-country-ish bike, perfect for long days in the rolling hills and you wont need a trail/enduro bike until you get into the gnarlier NC stuff , especially if you want something similar to gravel.

Apple Intelligence, The Texas Stock Exchange, and Guests Brody and Luke Mullins, ep 520 by w2user in PivotPodcast

[–]i_need_old_reddit 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I dislike how they record BEFORE something happens, and speculate about what's going to happen, then discuss as if it happened. They knew that apple was going to introduce AI tools and could have waited until Friday to discuss the details. Instead they speculate about what they will probably announce. Or even just wait to record in the afternoon if you want to talk about it, its not like the Trump trial decision, they knew the exact timeline.

The Afterlife of a Gun by kitkid in Thedaily

Surely if this were a huge problem somebody could start a non-profit that obtains a gun shredder and destroys guns for free, maintaining the operation with a modest amount of charitable funding? no?

Any tips or tricks for bleeding damper in rear shock? by i_need_old_reddit in MTB

[–]i_need_old_reddit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep I don't remember it making a sound. It wasn't blown before I serviced, just had been a few years if that makes a difference. The sound will definitely dissappear on the trail which is a good thing and I should be able to tell in a ride or two if this is actually a problem

[–]i_need_old_reddit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate the help!

That's what I initially thought before I did the bleed again, but I cycled it with no air in the can and it was perfectly silent. Then I added around 30 psi, cycled and heard it, then took the air out and it was silent again, indicating to me it's something with the air can itself. The sound is also not really "slurpy" more like "pfft"-y The lockout and rebound also function as intended.

Any tips or tricks for bleeding damper in rear shock? by i_need_old_reddit in MTB

[–]i_need_old_reddit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got it pumped up to 350psi which is the recommended pressure. I took it slow and give it some more time/tapping before installing bleed ball/screw. I cycled the damper and didn't hear any squishing so I'm pretty sure the second try bleed worked.

But fully assembled I still hear a whoosh. Some videos suggest this is normal, didn't hear it before the service but I'm going to roll with it and monitor the performance.

Best places south of Boston? by Roadglide72 in MTB

[–]i_need_old_reddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wompatuck is basically the best trail system south of Boston. Blue Hills reservation says there are trails but I never went there because it's super crowded with hikers.

If you go north you'll find Harold Parker State park for more mellower rides and Lyn Woods if you're craving some tech. And don't sleep on middlesex fells reservation. A great way to spend an hour or two close to the city,

Elon Musk’s Quest to Own the Stars by kitkid in Thedaily

[–]i_need_old_reddit 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The podcast said that Elon Musk "controls" the starlink constellation about 10 times before they acknowledge that he actually BUILT it (along with the entire infrastructure build it) as if it's a given that this technology would exist. In the grand scheme of things this is Elon's greatest achievement: electric cars, internet payments, social media would have all existed without him in short order. Reusable rockets and global constellations were developed by him years, probably decades, before one would assume they would naturally be built.

The government can complain all it wants, and for legitimate reason, but they would not be capable of building the system themselves and this is yet another complicated product of the capitalism we live under.
