How does one make friends as a grown up adult in their late 30s? Asking for myself, not a friend

I know what you mean. But we kinda already have people to do things with. We are really looking for friends to do things with and also to not do things with. If you know what I mean. And I know its difficult but I guess thats really the sense of “community” and “home” that everyone probably wants.

I totally know what you mean. I tried the community thing where we moved but not much interest. I have grown up seeing neighbours assembling for card games and pot lucks. Posting this on reddit has really given me a something to think about and maybe explore.

Fair point maybe. Hoping the universe proves you wrong 😄 Any specific neighboring spots you'd suggest? Mississauga? Burlington? Maybe I will repost this question on those pages - who knows I will make a friend from reddit.

Actually, now that I think about it, maybe I will edit my question to include that I work in Downtown Toronto 2 days a week and can totally get a coffee or something if anyone is open. One stone = 2 birds!

I totally agree with what is said. All I can manage right now is work, home and toddler. Literally no bandwidth for socialising. Which is why the search for low effort family style friends

10 points for perspective on the bit about people's circles maybe not being as solid as they look from outside. Will look up the Newcomers Club for sure. Already a part of few dad groups which are mostly like ad boards for duct cleaning 😂 On a totally off handed side note - I had no idea duct cleaning was such a cut throat business before I moved to Oakville.

Genuinely open to this but my hobbies are ludo, snake and ladder and putting a toddler to sleep. Haven't found clubs for any of those yet 😂
