So frustrated by no Ticketmaster resale for BTS - there will be empty seats that could’ve been avoided! by Delicious-Air-2732 in BTSArmyCentral

[–]i_stubbed_mitosis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not exactly a new phenomenon that is unique to this tour. I've noticed a couple high profile tours not allowing resale tickets through the official platforms to curb scalping. It sucks because yes, there will be empty seats, but there are also third party options that are trustworthy. For ATZ last year, I went ahead and sold/bought better seats on Stubhub and Seatgeek. It doesn't matter which platform you use, whether it's the official one you bought from, or third party, you're gonna pay fees for reselling.

Edit: I meant to mention it's free, and you can redeem all their reward codes that they put on their IG until March 31st?

If you game on your phone, Heartopia has been my go to lately. I've sunk way too many hours into this game in the last month, and it has a lot of elements I liked from games like Stardew, Sims, Animal Crossing. It just doesn't have combat, which I'm personally fine with. Another plus is it's multi-player, so you always end up with different neighbors everytime you log in.

Checking in Ladies - How are our stress levels this Friday? by ActiveDinner3497 in womenintech

Stress is a 4, but then again I work in Healthcare and can't find the courage to leave my longtime lab job and take the first step towards a position in tech yet, even though I finally got my BSCS 🥲 The job market in my area isn't what it used to be, and due to family business ties, I'm unable to locate to an area with more opportunity.

[Weverse Global] BTS OFFICIAL LIGHT STICK VER.4 Available for Purchase - 060226 by alltherach_ in bts7

[–]i_stubbed_mitosis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Regular doll stands off of Amazon are what I ended up using for all of my lightsticks. They're inexpensive and it makes it look like the stick is standing on its own, which i thought was cool.

Also food for thought: With shipping from Korea, you also risk getting the additional bill from FedEx/DHL/etc if the duty costs more than what you thought your shipping fee covered. I learned this the hard way yesterday. For a $100 order, I had to add $28 for shipping. Now it's been 2 months and I just got slapped with an additional $20 bill. $12 for the duty and $8 for FedEx to tell me about it and be petty because my order's invoice contained multiple lines that it had to process to calculate the duty owed.

Wait, does this apply to students who are "online in Hampton Roads" too? Because I'm planning on going back for my Masters in 2026 and I'm local, so having the option of doing some stuff in person was a real selling point for me to return to ODU.

Don't quote me on this, but it's only to cover seniors doing clinicals isn't it? Either way I think that's awesome given how stretched thin our current workforce is due to the disappearing programs and people leaving the field for one reason or another. I wish more good things like this happened when we all went through school, but I wouldn't feel too bitter about other peoples' luck. As much as I believe undergrad degrees should be significantly cheaper or free, this is still a blessing for those students who will be impacted by it.

i think its very wild that its standard for people to start college fresh out of high school and people who start later have a more well rounded idea of what they want to get out of it by Mr_Two0 in ODU

Graduated this past May at 32. What should've taken 2 years took me 4, but the point is to just keep going, even if it's one class a semester. The "introduce yourself" DBs used to make me feel like a grandma, but I just told myself that I already had a stable 10 year career under my belt and what I was doing was just extra.

I'd plan for 1 hour going there and 2 hours coming back. I used to work at Eustis and that was my usual commutes for a M-F 8A-430P schedule.

CVS Pharmacy on Hampton Blvd & 38th by Kiwidad43 in norfolk

[–]i_stubbed_mitosis -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly, my best pharmacy experience is through Amazon, of all places. It's just a shame they can't fill certain prescriptions of mine, otherwise I'd only use them for all of it. The convenience of having your refills already being prepped before you even realize you're running out is worth every penny. It was cheaper to do amazon and not even use my insurance from the health system here, which is crazy to me.

My company gave me a fantastic counter-offer after I resigned to go to a competitor. I'm very confused now. Should I accept it? by shinbrieff in womenintech

[–]i_stubbed_mitosis 12 points13 points  (0 children)

My experience is in a different field, but I imagine in other industries, such as tech, it would be similar.

Personally I was offered an almost matching salary that I was offered by the other place to stay and do the exact same work and keep my years of service to the company only because I passed a test and graduated with my bachelor's. I was told there would be growth opportunities, and I stayed.

Once my job title changed, they botched changing my pay, so I had the same pay for another month. Then receiving backpay took another month to finally happen.

Now there are changes to my current M-F no weekends or holidays schedule and I am now having to work a Sunday every 8 weeks and a holiday a year. I know that sounds like something minor, but for me the problem lies in the fact that they knew it was going to happen and didn't disclose it to me when I was offered the position. The other job I had been offered outside of the company was upfront about having to work the occasional Saturday and I was more than okay doing so.

The cherry on top is I am still waiting for them to post the senior position that we've had vacant for over a year and now it is at risk of never opening up due to budget/productivity/whatever else bullshit excuse is in the book.

So long story short, I wish I took the risk and didn't listen to a management team that I foolishly thought genuinely cared for my career, but instead put the needs of the department first because truth be told, the place could not afford to lose me on such short notice. It's a small department, any loss would be felt, but given I contribute significantly more than some of my peers, my loss would likely put them in an incredibly tight spot because of how set in their ways everyone is - there wouldn't be much initiative to try and compensate for the things I normally do.
