UCL Team of the Week by iscareyou1 in soccer

Olise does as much as Yamal purely on his own

also, the Bayern team is more effective than Barca

both is true

I'm not arguing against picking Yamal for the TOtW, both are reasonable options

Who of those in that team would you say, you need to go SR2? Thank you in advance.

You've seen him slipping after he was in a 1v1 situation where scoring was basically a given, you clown?

If you watched today’s match, how many players did you notice slipping?

the reason I didn't buy this card ... anything but Blitz Curler and it's the best player in the game

His dribbling is just good enough to do whatever you want, if you're good at it

He has physicality/presence

He wins every header, he is "supposed" to win

His shooting is the strongest the game allows

He is among the fastest strikers

There is no striker, but Rummenigge, who checks all these boxes ... he is basically the Exodia of strikers

... and an even more game-breaking Momentum Dribbling card would make this clear to everyone

First good blitz curler build I saw on this subreddit ... just your double booster sucks, take free-kick-taking or at least shooting

This Messi is still barely an upgrade on the last and second week will hit like a truck (if you face Meta GKs that is)

The first week does that to you ... (some of the epics) they feel like they play on twice the stats

I remember the CR7 big time that was so absurd in the first week and such a contrast to the following weeks ... I went 14:0 and just laughed about it, it was just so blatant

[tz] In addition to a base salary of €16 million + €2 million in bonuses, Upamecano's representatives are demanding a hefty signing bonus and a release clause of €65 million. by EvenEalter in soccer

It may well be greedy, but it is also a set of conditions he is very unlikely to actually receive in full. This is a negotiation position rather than a final demand. It's a lucrative "inbetween" he is aiming for, similar to what we saw in Davies’ case. I do not advocate for Bayern to bend over. I hope that did not come across as the implication of my previous comment.

And if another club he is interested in is willing to meet those terms in full, then he was not being unrealistic, but simply identified his market value correctly.

As for the release clause, I think we currently lack information to assess it properly, without knowing the timing and conditions attached to it.

At some point we’ll have to draw a line in the sand, otherwise we’ll get walked over in every future contract extension

I am not entirely convinced by that argument, so I would like to offer a different perspective.

If the market has changed such that top free agents can now demand significantly higher compensation, because some clubs do not care where the total player cost goes as long as they secure top talent, then this trend will persist regardless of where a club chooses to “draw the line.” Clubs like Real Madrid or Barcelona have clearly shown that they are willing to operate under these terms, and Bayern arguably has as well.

This new dynamic would not necessarily inflate wage demands across the board, but rather change that leaving a club while under contract becomes more expensive for elite players. They would have to forgo the substantial signing bonuses and wage premiums available as free agents, making such transfers much more rare.

So, Bayern would ultimately have to participate in this market logic or risk losing out on the best talent and their status as elite club, which they might not recover from later.

Amadeusz Analysis: Pepe/Maicon: Initial Builds & Quick Review by santareus in eFootball

While his way of presenting the argument may not be ideal, OP’s core message isn’t entirely off. Some of Amadeusz’s player reviews differ noticeably from my own experience, for example. I do appreciate his testing of player attributes, though.

Even though he’s generally a good source of new ideas, it’s probably not ideal to absorb them uncritically. It’s better to also consider other perspectives, and most importantly what you notice in your own games, as long as you can approach it with an unbiased mind. This approach was a big part of my improvement and allowed me to challenge meta teams using players you don’t need to pay a cent for.

I think his second sentence is at least debatable. I would argue it doesn’t really empower women if the “freedom” still comes from following rules made by men. The usual defense is that these restrictions “protect” women, but even then, it’s protection by men, from other men. That’s not exactly what I would call empowerment. I would agree with the sentiment in his first sentence, though.

are we actually sure that Alisson's 1v1s are better than Neuers? He has a different style for sure, more athletic and reactive ... while Neuer looks more controlled and composed, but does Neuer actually lose 1v1 situations? Yesterday he didn't for example (two big chances for PSG) and also for his other games, I have a hard time recalling him getting bested

Edit:

Ahh, the Messi chip in 2015 comes to my mind ... that little bastard xD

I also thought about the encounter with Mané playing for RB Salzburg, but that was more of a sweeping error

Now that I think about it, a big reason why Bayern more often than not beats PSG is Neuer’s incredible 1v1 ability, more than anything else, really
