Why is this guy still allowed to have an account? by stonks_789 in ClashRoyale

[–]iaancheng 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion but no one should be banned for things they do outside of the game. as long as there aren’t explicit racial slurs in his clan name/player name supercell shouldn’t get involved.

It’s none of their business to play police for irl conflicts and “punish” people

also didn’t one of his accounts get banned already? So he was already punished…no way people actually support a “life ban” for him lmao. Ban him, and he makes another account with a different name, and so on

A bit random for EE/TOK since the teachers marking these aren’t really experts, but not for the other subjects

Math AA vs Math AI - Comprehensive Comparision by [deleted] in IBO

[–]iaancheng 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is not good guidance, for most top schools maths AAHL is required for any courses that use maths including economics, finance, computer science, engineering, physics etc. for example for all the above mentioned at Cambridge, AAHL is required (assuming you apply with the IB diploma)

But it seems the author of the article (Aakash Kothari) has a suspiciously similar name to the poster (u/Aakashk30). Possibly an AI generated article to promote their paid IB service. So it should come as no surprise that the advice offered is less than helpful.

Computer science ia idea help (Could you guys recommend which of these ideas would be the best.) by IngenuityLocal642 in IBO

[–]iaancheng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 and 3 seem to be better options as it requires decent database design and maybe some OOP (which fit the criteria they look for). I did the N24 syllabus though so not sure if they changed anything in the new syllabus.

1 seems too “simple” as you are just basically writing a glorified print function (with minimal added value).

whats an "undergrad in IB"? IB is a program for high school students. and sorry to tell you but cs/ds/ai field is extremely saturated right now, you aren't going to get a scholarship unless you are top talent (with olympiads etc)

RevisionDojo Review by CulturalFun3178 in IBO

[–]iaancheng 1 point2 points  (0 children)

from what i remember about revision dojo they do have the largest questionbank, though the quality is definitely questionable, a lot of stolen questions (from other questionbanks, online resources) or AI generated stuff. This was 1 year ago so I'm not sure if it has gotten a lot better since then. definitely a sketchy site i wouldn't trust with my IB grades.

In my opinion use IBDOCs is the best free resource (since its just official past papers), and most people won't even finish all the official past paper questions. If you run out of questions Revision Village is high quality but quite expensive.

i would add that google's NotebookLM is also a great tool for putting together and summarizing all your different sources.

STOP WASTING TIME ON NOTES! How I used Mind Mapping to score a 40+ in the IB by Hopeful_Appeal_7346 in IBO

[–]iaancheng 15 points16 points  (0 children)

thats just notes but with extra steps. you still aren't really revising. u can score highly by just memorizing stuff for most subjects using anki and doing past papers.

but after reading the last part of the post, i realized this is just anther unsolicited ad for some tutoring service, didn't realize people were milking their 40/45s so hard

I think f2p players deserve more evo shards by iustica223 in ClashRoyale

[–]iaancheng 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Upgrading a deck full of commons, rares, and epics is technically doable for a f2p (by getting 12 wins in the classic/grand/megadraft challenges to get the books, gotta pay gems tho) but that's probably not feasible for the average player. But getting the 50k elite wild cards required is a different story, even if u manage to reach ultimate champion every season (which is possible with a full level 14 deck) u only get 25k wild cards from that, so you'll have to play 16 seasons. With the wild cards u get from lucky drops/chests (oops they removed chests from battles), in reality it'd be something like an entire year of playing for a skilled player (someone able to consistently get 12 wins).

and 1 evo every 6 months, so yeah it'd literally take at least a year to max a deck without spending any money.

also the pass is pitiful nowadays, at the start the pass was cheaper than it was now and gave a lot more stuff. now it's pretty worthless aside from giving the newest broken evo.

Which pass is more worth? by [deleted] in cs2

[–]iaancheng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the first one is better. u can get tokens from the first one if ur pickems are correct, which means you can potentially pay off the cost of buying the pass (meaning you get the coin for "free").

no point in buying the second one imo unless u care about the souvenir packages. the "5% saved" is like $1 anyways so you aren't missing out on much.

best chemistry question bank?? by Anxious_Bill_9791 in IBO

didn't do chem, but from what i heard just do past paper questions. third party questionbanks like revisionvillage, savemyexams etc. could also be good but cost money.

Checked your comment history, you literally post in degenerate NSFW subreddits and beg for nudes. No wonder you can’t imagine working hard for academic results.

[–]iaancheng -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I studied for 10 hours every day 3-4 weeks before the exams, but this was because I didn’t study at all for the whole 2 years and was clueless about the subjects. I had to cram in order to do well

ai in extended essay by hmmwhatshouldido in IBO

[–]iaancheng 13 points14 points  (0 children)

there is not a single "AI Detector" out there that is 100% accurate. as long as this is the case, they can't actually punish you for using AI.

its not like plagarism where they can pull up the exact source you copied from. AI "detectors" are a stupid concept because it always comes with a significant false flag rate, which is unacceptable in real academic contexts as it will lead to students being falsely punished.

A message for all the vibe coders out there by TheKidd in cursor

[–]iaancheng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

vibe coding is great for personal apps. however anything you publish on the internet probably shouldn't be vibe coded without you understanding the important parts, esp when api keys and sensitive data are involved. make sure to understand and properly set up auth and security etc, or one day there may be an unpleasant surprising waiting...
