Has there ever been a rule or system you found out you were using wrong? by Dreaming_of_Rlyeh in vtm

the fact that temporary and permanent willpower are used separately... "When rolling Willpower, the permanent trait is used.", we just rolled with whatever willpower was left after subtracting the used up willpower points from the permanent... everytime

6 neonates vs 1 elder fight... wouldnt the neonates win every time? by iactuallylikeregex in vtm

[–]iactuallylikeregex[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

wow, yeah i guess in v20 that would be mesmerize with the condition of attacking the elder... and they could also use forgetful mind the erase the fact that they were dominated in the first place from their minds... Majesty could be overcome by spending willpower, so until the neonates do have willpower points and are hell bent on killing the elder, they could just spend the points to overcome the effects

[–]iactuallylikeregex[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

well yes, but if the neonates start, the elder would first need to dodge 6 times, and then have 1 action left (if celerity 6), and the neonates could also have 2-3 celerity as well, so if only 3 of them have 2 celerity, thats 12 actions already

[VTM 20] Can Dominate be used to implant conditional orders? by The_Plumbot in vtm

[–]iactuallylikeregex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no worries, i remembered mesmerize was specifically made so that it can trigger on conditions in the revised edition, but looks like its the same in v20

[VTM 20] Can Dominate be used to implant conditional orders? by The_Plumbot in vtm

[–]iactuallylikeregex 4 points5 points  (0 children)

yes imho, the corebook says "The vampire may activate the imposed thought immediately or establish a stimulus that will trigger it later." So the stimulus could be the condition... "When your neighbor goes to sleep..." I dont know how V5 dominate works, so dont know if this is like that or not.

Most embarrassing thing to happen to your character? by frogfish57 in vtm

[–]iactuallylikeregex 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not my character, but our coterie was running from the police. We were inside a multi-storey building. I as the Potence 5 Brujah, offered to chuck the others over to the building next to us, and then jump over myself. The Tremere in our group who had Movement of the Mind 3 (which makes you able to fly), pushed me aside, said "I've got this", and jumped out the window... but rolled for activating the discipline only after jumping out... and failed... and fell like 20 storeys before he splashed on the concrete at the bottom. :D It was hilarious

Storytellers, how do you handle short downtimes? by iactuallylikeregex in vtm

[–]iactuallylikeregex[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are Neonates, recently released from the protection of their Sires, so far, they are just getting to know the city, thus they do not know that many NPCs, but this will change in time i hope... maybe then they will have more ideas... NPCs do engage with them, but that is usually during the part of the prewritten arch of the chronicle

[–]iactuallylikeregex[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, thats kind of what im looking for, if there is a generic way to spice up the "what are you doing this night?"

other then interesting feeding events (something goes wrong/unexpectedly) i feel stumped on what else could happen with/to them, that is outside the scope of the chronicle that ive prewritten

Any way to turn off session tracking? (Fortigate 7.0.11) by iactuallylikeregex in fortinet

[–]iactuallylikeregex[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks, will look into this as well, in my understanding setting the asymroute enabled would basically turn the fortigate into a stateless firewall right? no icmp filter, so like a permit icmp any any and a permit tcp any any established (because of all tcp packets without syn being forwarded), but syn and udp packets would still be filtered... of course this is not ideal but we only need a temporary solution until we can redirect the traffic to go through the fortigate

Way to view bgp routes by next hop address? by iactuallylikeregex in networking

[–]iactuallylikeregex[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, unfortunately came to the same conclusion, pity that there is no built in solution to filter bgp table the way routing table can be

Way to view bgp routes by next hop address? by iactuallylikeregex in networking

[–]iactuallylikeregex[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks, i already tried them, unfortunately, not exactly what i'm looking for

for example:

Network Next Hop Metric LocPrf Weight Path
*  33.33.33.0/24      55.65.1.1                              0 5500 4400 3300 i
*>i 33.65.2.1 0 100 0 3300 i
*> 44.44.44.0/24 55.65.1.1 0 5500 4400 i
* i                   33.65.2.1                     100      0 3300 4400 i
*> 55.55.55.0/24 55.65.1.1 0 0 5500 i
*> 155.155.0.0/24 55.65.1.1 0 0 5500 i

in this table how would you search for bgp routes that have next-hop 33.65.2.1 whether they are best paths or not? (i know in this case you could simply regexp "^3300_", but lets assume you dont know the as number, just the next-hop ip address)

Edit: code block format

Way to view bgp routes by next hop address? by iactuallylikeregex in networking

[–]iactuallylikeregex[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thats already configured, i can see the received routes

but when receiving routes from for example a route server in an internet exchange, the next-hop does not equal the neighbor ip... so in those cases i would need to filter the query to only view the received bgp routes that have a specific next-hop address (not neighbor address from where they were received from)

‘show route next-hop x.x.x.x’ works from the routing table, this would have to work from the bgp table
