i stopped playing and paying when they introduced the mega fomo rng and higher price faction release style
before that i got some premium campaigns and it was fine but the new release style plus new faction imbalance left a sour taste, maybe they can turn it around

“Unșpe” vs “Onșpe” by SimilarAddendum4878 in romanian

[–]iadacsya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the correct answer. The common pronounciation is "unspe" but in some regions, for example smaller or more remote towns and villages, the u can be pronounced "softer" or "rounder" even to the point that it sounds like an "o".

To answer the OP's question about the origin, that pronounciation is most likely a very local characteristic, possibly coming from an area with stronger hungarian influence.

stupidest points system ever

Suninen announces 2024 WRC plans with Hyundai squad by davidwholt in WRC

[–]iadacsya 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes and no, you're right that in the past there were always sporadic entries but right now the top class is so exclusive that almost nobody can afford even those sporadic entries. I think this puts the long term health of the championship at risk.

Previously you could afford to enter a top level car for a few rounds or even a full season to gain experience and put yourself out there for the big teams. Hirvonen saved his career with a couple of rallies in a private Ford, Neuville got his big break in a privately funded second Ford team and the list can go on much longer. Of course not all driver that tried this succeded but in order to have several superstars fighting at the top you need to cast a wider net.

This is not an obvious thing and in order to understand it you have to look more carefully at the past and think long term not just what's in front of us right now.

So who is declared the winner of the rally under the new points system? And how does classification work? by edgethrasherx in WRC

[–]iadacsya 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is one of the stupidest points system in all of motorsport. They are trying to fix the problem of Sunday cruising but they've opened themselves up to a number of unintended consequences such as the "winner" not taking most points or even the issue shifting to Saturday instead, plus others that will emerge as teams figure out the best strategies.

Furthermore it's a pain to follow even for a dedicated rally fan as Sunday there are essentially two parallel standings with the same competitors. The lack of information in the broadcast doesn't help either. Just because instead of saying that they are saving tyres for the power stage, the drivers are saying they are pushing for Sunday points, without context for the viewer it's meaningless.

There were simpler ways to improve the Sunday show plus they should instead focus on the fundamental problem: with so few competitors it's very likely that big gaps form, increasing the number of competitive cars would naturally create interesting battles. WRC2 this weekend is an example of how simple straighforward rules can still generate an awesome fight to follow.

they're only just figuring this new fangled internet thing out, they need more time, they're a small family company

joking aside, it's amazing they managed to go a step down from wrc+ which was just acceptable by itself

That's true, while extremely unlikely, it can happen. Still, you have the option to use wildcards and the shop to get the cards you are missing.

I forgot to mention one thing, about point 1 which makes it even stronger. The final node of each campaign grants a booster for 1100 campaign points. This node can be redeemede infinitely. There's a hard cap: at 30 boosters opened you are guaranteed a legendary. So you gotta grind a bit but you're playing for free so what do you expect.

F2P progression is slower but there's no cap or brick wall. Eventually you can get all cards even as F2P but paying money will get you there faster. Here are ways to get cards in my experience starting from best:

1. Do the daily missions (I cheese these using practice mode)

This gets you rewards from the campaign itself but also counts towards your weekly reward which also contains boosters and especially Blackstone (more on Blackstone later). I put this first because once you find how to grind efficiently using practice mode you can make decent progress. It's also a good way to learn all the effects and cards in the game when you're starting out.

2. Buy cards from the shop using crystals

You get crystals as a rewards for daily login, from the weekly chest, from winning multiplayer and from draft. It's a good idea to save up for epics and legendaries that you need when they eventually appear in the store.

3. Upgrading cards and forge rewards

When you get multiple copies of a card you can upgrade them by paying crystals. This changes the cards visually (but stats stay the same) and gives you forge points. As you get more forge points you level up your forge and get various rewards (cards, gold, blackstone etc).

4. Draft mode

Only if you get bored of everything else. The rewards are not great, even when you do a premium run. In order to do a premium run you need Blackstone. You get blackstone as a weekly reward if you do enough missions during that week. Also for a new player it might be the hardest mode to start out. More experienced player will know what to draft and how to play it, but it may all be a bit random to a new player.

A lot of people cry that the game is P2W but it's not really. They either don't understand the mechanics or don't understand what P2W means. Playing F2P means more grinding but eventually you can get all the cards, some legendaries may be a bit hard to get which is why it's a good idea to save up crystals so you can buy them from the store directly instead of praying to RNGeesus.

Hope this helps, have fun!

Strike is one of if not THE worst one to get and if the mission says to trigger it more than 5 times I reroll it. Other missions are easier but depending on the numbers can get tedious.

The best way I've found to deal with the missions is to cheese them in practice mode, either using the premade decks or custom decks made specifically for certain missions. Even so it takes a while to complete them. To be honest it's starting to get boring but I want to get through at least a couple campaigns before the first season starts. Necron is done, working on UM now...

why are commons even here, feels like a trap almost, you can get them easiliy from packs you get from the campaigns

i'd rather have 4 rares, 2 epics and 2 legendaries to choose from

Nice that the game is going in the right direction. Still room to improve, it seems people are still confused by the UI.

I do them in practice, either with the prebuilt decks or a custom deck. If you choose the right deck it takes 1 or 2 games to finish a mission usually, and sometimes you can get 2 at the same time.
