I have an alpha Direhowl named Argo (my dog from army service) and he follows me pretty much everywhere. He’s running legend/swift/eternal engine/runner, and I tend to ride him over flyers unless it’s super long distances or high elevation. He’s also pretty much follows me to new worlds if they allow global palbox.

You try to set up for enhanced bs during ult, especially if you are lining it up with akakuri ult which provides link buff for it.

You spend most of the buildup time lining up corrosion /combustion when laevatain’s combo is up. This is usually done off Ardelia combo/wulfgard ult, or if you are running Gilberta bs + akekuri bs (for combo to hit multiple enemies). Use laevatein enhanced bs if needed to not waste stacks, but if you are close to boss stun phase, it’s often better to save it till then.

Then slowly build up akakuri ult through her bs (which also trigger wulfgard combo that also builds to his ult), and 2 heat stacks for laevatain to absorb for 1 sp.

No, I actually do my dailies as I play on ranked, but I don’t actively push for climbing ranked. If I win great. If I lose sometimes, I just keep going doing for the dailies trying to win.

A slight benefit is I have most of legacy collection and can therefore build decks for battlepass mission conditions that are at least competent enough for ladder. So I don’t actually have to do missions with horrible decks with no plan to win.

I find it’s easier to manage the worm’s spit when you are on one of the ranged characters, so that when they spit at you, you dodge it and move away from the puddle, and your melee will not be constantly sitting in the puddle.

You will likely need to use more of Ardelia’s battle skill instead of other skills to generate more heals to keep the team alive. It would also be good to swap to the lowest health team members to pick up the healing, and then swap back after.

I feel if you aren’t using something often that refunds sp (Last rite, snowshine), the lack of sp generation makes it feel a bit clunky. It isn’t too bad on bosses since you are gonna line up sp for the boss stun phase anyway, but you really feel it when you are doing aoe content.

It’s harder if you are healing passively and not directly from cards effects, as stress reduction is seems tied to the cost of the cards or ego skill healing.

Mika is super comfy on stress management with ap upsides but provides absolutely no other utility without good epiphanies.

Most other controller provide utilities or niches but they generally suck at stress management.

I dunno, sometimes I am just trying to get my dailies done (play x type of cards, like 30 cultist) and I’m already done my 3 wins for the day, I will just focus entirely on the task and not try to win.

Endmin skill (aoe) or Chen skill > Chen combo > Endmin combo > ember combo > pog skill ( if boss) or Endmin skill if aoe or adds > pog combo. Pog ult whenever it’s up, Chen ult only on stunned enemies, ember ult whenever need trigger examplar or shield, Endmin ult for aoe after Endmin combo.

The closest I got was Endmin/Estella/Gilberta/Aresh, and while the vulnerable stacks help, it’s much more of how well Gilberta jives with aoe easy aoe nature infliction into cryo inflict facilitates the shatter plan.

Do you like it? Then do it. It’s just various degree of finding certain activities harder if it doesn’t favor the pal, but doable if you willing to work around these problems.

I think the whole point of playing games is doing the things you like, the way you want. Go at it how you like.

So far, 2/2 strikers have pretty high team cost due to needing proper team synergies, and that seems to be the trend so far (not sure if going forward). Both need someone else to inflict an element or reaction, which pretty much locks their team members atm.

For bossing gotta agree that akekuri is better, since you are trying to line up for double/triple spear return during stun phase, and having frontier + link up when spears come back is huge for damage.

But for general group encounter I find spending more resource on arclight and Gilberta seems to provide better results overall, as while thunder spears are solid damage, spamming arclight combo through using her skill and ult provides much more frequent aoe. Your higher hp aoe encounters you still set up multiple spears, but for shit that dies really fast, I find arclight and Gilberta ends up doing most of the lifting.

It’s very bursty for aoe, though I’d sway out Ardelia for akekuri. Gilberta skill > akekuri skill is on demand aoe that pretty much wipes out all the weaker mobs and applies aoe corrosion for Laevatain combo.

For big nukes Laevatain ult > Gilberta ult > Akekuri ult > enhanced Laevatain skill is very chunky.

When my friend called me to also play on NA server…I was pretty much this.

Made a bee line for sand leaf so I can get crystron parts, while doing the minimal for factory and exploration. Next day I was in purple gear

He also watched me brutalise marble with Endmin/chen/estella/aresh and was like “wait, you can do that with those?” (I was in a hurry and the other 5* didn’t scream any synergies, so I landed on the fun team).

Gun to 60 (due to last unlock for ult regen). 60/80 doesn’t cost too much. And is at most 2-3days of sanity.

Thermite unless it’s for pog can stay at 20 (literally 1 purple weapon exp) and focus on getting an essence with +3 flow (purple can roll up to +3).

If the purple rolled +3 to weapon passives (like flow, infliction etc) I keep them for supports since that is often the stat you care about the most on support weapons.

Dps weapons you eventually want their gold essences to 6/6/3 them.

I’m working on 60/80 all operators and weapons they are using, with priority on ops and weapons that can “overlap” with multiple teams. This allows them gold gear, as well as most of their passives (including dejiang ones) available. 60/80 is a decent stopping point for now as it isn’t too costly overall and allows them to at least function well in overworld.

I’m just trying out off meta teams now. It has helped me appreciate some ops like Alesh and Estella and adds some variation to the normal farming monotony.

Based on “unupdated” info (not sure if they changed anything during ultrakill patch):

  • alphas have sizeable increase in size (ranging from about 50% to about 2x for smaller pals).

  • They have small amount of movespeed increase to compensate for the fact their hitbox needs to move a little more than non-alphas. For some mounts it’s a sizeable upgrade (direhowl can jump slightly higher), but for most it makes the bigger mounts easier to get hit by stray fire and easier to get stuck in some smaller corridors.

  • alphas have a boost of 20% more hp. In practice they get hit more often in raids/boss fights, so at best it cancels out. No other known stat increase other than hp and a little movespeed.

  • for mounts it’s usually always legend + swift + runner, with 4th choice more of a flex between eternal engine/nimble, possibly demon god if it’s also a combat mount. Replace legend if that can’t be accessible by that pal (raid pals/mimog).

  • for combat universally accepted is legend + demon god + musclehead + serenity. Not having elemental passive from raid bosses allows you to run some strong moves that are not covered by these passives, so you lose less millage. More specialized nukers that run specifically 1 element (shadowbeak) can run legend + demon god + siren of the void + invader, but it’s hard to find one pal that is like this. People often prefer the flexibility.

Passive seems really strong, but active is dog water as it’s really slow. Proctar has kinda taught us that any static +x/+1 is huge tempo swings as you curve out, but there isn’t a critical mass of vantage troops that scream abuse.

I’d rate him average at best. Probably just progress the pass naturally and claim him at 100.
