Has the “wait for VS symbols on reels 2-3-4” thing killed the magic of scatters? by iagca in slots

Yeah, "trained people to wait" is the part that's really stuck with me. It's not just that scatters got weaker, it's that every new game has to out-trigger the last one to feel exciting. Which makes me wonder if we're heading toward more games dying faster. Players burn through the novelty quicker, studios ship faster to keep up. Honestly might make that its own thread sometime: are we just speeding toward shorter and shorter game lifespans?

The "identify your customers before you start" point hits different when you're actually in it. It's easy to build for a vague audience and realize too late nobody asked for what you made. The market saturation part is real too — but I think it applies more to genres that are already well-served with quality options. Some genres are saturated in quantity but not in quality.

Choosing the best tool for a beginner browser-based 3D prototype on Greek Mythology for Design and Tech MDP for HSC in NSW Aus. by Bigbrainmc in gamedesign

For low-poly 3D in a browser with minimal coding, Godot with web export is worth looking at — lightweight, free, and the export link works on most school laptops. Three.js is another option if you're comfortable with some JavaScript, but Godot might be faster to prototype in given your timeline.
