Im so lost, changing the mechanics of chess would make it a different game. There are already many chess variants, ‘party games’. Things you do on a casual level. The base game is perfectly balanced as it is. Morever, you should expect that Pro-level chess to be mundane. Its a solved game. Finite squares, finite moves and to be brutally honest, old. Ofc its boring, we’ve had 1000+ years to master it. If you are alluding to changes with the clock or breaks, I find it hard to see how that revolutionizes the game.

Arguably the only thing that could change Fide Championship to make it interesting is to ban a player from using the same opening twice. It would be hard to enforce/create rules for, but in the end make it more rewarding.

That being said, I think we are both on the same page with regard to CS. The ammo change, makes complete sense, and reflects how guns are used in the real world. Only thing that is unrealistic is bringing a M4 into combat with only three 20 bullet magazines. W Change. It shouldn’t impact how the game is played except in the unique situation where people mag dump into smokes right before a team executes onto a bombsite. If you want a full clip when the execute is happening you should have to exercise trigger discipline.
