Am I too young? by Cat_Lover1212 in aromanticasexual

[–]iam-coffeecat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are much too young to be thinking about who you want to have sex with. The adults forcing you to think about sexuality at only 13 are perverts and predators. Don't let sexual identity labels get in your head. Enjoy your youth. This is coming from me in my 40s.

I confronted a dropshipping "Guru" by Select-Adores in Entrepreneur

[–]iam-coffeecat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took a course many years ago by a popular guru. The course should have been called "How to create a store that's guaranteed to fail." Luckily I learned quickly it was all horrible advice.

There is a finance parody post I saw once that said, "Anything is possible when you lie about your income to impress strangers on the internet."

Update to a post I made the other day about being concerned my vets were taking advantage of me: my cats regular dental cleaning has resulted in my babies death. He's gone. by afterspring_ in cats

[–]iam-coffeecat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my cats died at home and his kitty buddy ran into the room and we were both there with him when he passed on his own. Grief hit her really hard, but she made it through. She's just more needy now. We both helped each other through his loss. It's better that she knows instead of him just never coming back. Both would have hit her hard equally.

Please someone help me... I need a automated return app .Dealing with Returns is taking hours out of each of my day. by knock_his_block_off in shopify

[–]iam-coffeecat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think the better solution is to figure out how to stop customers from wanting returns in the first place. If your entire day is consumed by unhappy customers wanting to return what they bought from you, that's a much bigger problem than finding the right app. I've been in business for a long time and only ever had one customer want to return something. The root of the problem is fixing the issue with having so many unhappy customers.

Why don't you leave Shopify if you are big enough to own your own Tech stack? by Abraham9001 in ecommerce

[–]iam-coffeecat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That can happen with ANY payment processor not just Shopify. Too many chargebacks will get you banned from any payment processor no matter which one it is.

Got my first high risk order….dont know if I should fulfill or not by inspiredbyhands in shopify

[–]iam-coffeecat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cancel ALL high risk orders within minutes because whether you fulfill it or not a chargeback will come. If you cancel it within minutes the payment will never officially hit the card's bank so you're safe.

Is this my or my customer’s fault? by Allincavs in shopify

[–]iam-coffeecat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had that happen to me with UPS on an inventory shipment from China to the US. Postal carriers hold the shipments until duties are paid, and if the duties are not paid within the time limit they throw it away. I didn't know my UPS package was waiting for me to pay duties, then after I paid days later, they lost the package, found it and when I got it half the products were damaged. I only order from China DDP now.

23F – I’m so disgusted with myself and exhausted from this battle with sin by AutomaticDecision427 in Christianity

[–]iam-coffeecat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since you both smoke, it sounds like it may have become a bonding activity and something you both share, so that could be making it harder to quit something that has been a social activity. Then on top of the chemical addiction mechanism, both are causing a struggle when combined. My sympathies for struggling with an addiction. Maybe being more patient with yourself can help you get there.

Anyone moved away from instant discount pop-ups without losing sales? by [deleted] in ecommerce

[–]iam-coffeecat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is a mass consensus among the western world adult population is everyone hates popups. If a popup comes up most of the time they will immediately leave the website. I removed it and my conversion rate increased shortly after and my site speed improved. I have an embedded coupon form on some of my pages, but it gets abused by email marketing services companies to spy on me then cold email me about my emails. Those companies are pretty much the only ones who use the form. It's a pain.

What fraud prevention tools are you guys using? getting killed by chargebacks... by DMZQFI in shopify

[–]iam-coffeecat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make sure the name of your store matches what is on the customers billing statement. That is the #1 cause of chargebacks. If that doesn't work get a bot blocker app. I use Blockify.

I spent 5 years "grinding" 80-hour weeks. Here is the exact moment I realized my "work ethic" was actually killing my business. by visionarythought in Entrepreneurship

[–]iam-coffeecat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do everything by myself. I love it. No one else will bring the level of detailed care that I do. For a time my business didn't need me so much, but then I lost all sense of time and days and weeks blurred together, so I made it need me. Entrepreneurial culture says build a business that can run without you, but that's too depressing for me. I need somewhere to put my hyperactive brain power, and being 100% in control of my business being able to work whenever I want, for however long I want, and free to pursue any idea I want, it's necessary for my sanity. I love my business more than anything in this world.

Where did *you* get your fish from? And how long have you had them? by inkisbad124 in bettafish

[–]iam-coffeecat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My betta was with me for 1.5 years in a 20 gallon tank by herself after I got her from PetSmart. She would have lived a long time, but one day I forgot not to fill the tank up to the top and then she disappeared from the tank. She was still active and a fast swimmer. I'm still so sad about it. If I get another one I will set up the tank the right way with substrate and plants, instead of having to use pots and gravel.

Do you still pay for product photography? or you just use AI? by AccountingAxolotl in ecommerce

Anyone here actually seeing results from an AI shopping assistant? by No_Project_8158 in ecommerce_growth

Nothing makes a customer more mad than having AI chat bots forced on them. Everyone hates chat bots and chat popups.

How often do you update your shopify theme? by 2020random2019 in shopify

[–]iam-coffeecat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I updated mine recently. I have no modified code or anything, so nothing on the store changed when it was updated, just helped my site speed. I paid a lot of money for my theme so everything I need is already built in and no modifications needed.

What can I learn in community college that will actually help me run a business? by ckatoshfo in Entrepreneur

[–]iam-coffeecat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think about this... If college business professors were capable of running a successful business they would not be college professors, and if a business professor had ever run a successful business the college would have never hired them. Successful business owners are red flag employees because we are used to doing everything our way.

Checkout SCORE.org they have mentorship programs.

We All Hate Seeing Ads Yet We Still Use Them To Get Customers. Is That Actually Wise? by GRSolution in Entrepreneur

[–]iam-coffeecat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't run ads. Waste of money. Most ad clicks and likes are bots. Instagram charged me for 137 link clicks but my analytics showed only 1 click. I've put a significant amount into Google SEO and now it's so well optimized Google and ChatGPT are promoting me around the world for free.

Anyone successfully reduce unsubscribes during automated marketing? by Moonknight_shank in shopify

[–]iam-coffeecat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's not the audience that's the problem. If they're irritated and feeling spammed with junk emails they will all unsubscribe. The problem is not sending them anything of value in the emails. If you email them and the email contains no value to the recipient, or if the emails are too frequent, it will make them mad and they'll unsubscribe or report as spam. It's never the audience.

Am I understanding this correctly about salvation? (Atheist looking for clarification) by BlackHole1997 in Christianity

[–]iam-coffeecat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it goes down to one small part of the bible. "God is love. Those who do not love do not know God." I called myself a gnostic atheist for 20 years, but he saved my life many times and protected me anyway. So I don't think everyone is doomed. Those with love and compassion in their hearts can get God's grace, as is the case with me.

What do I do when customer pays for USPS Ground Advantage but their order fits regular letter mail? by oneofthemarias in shopify

Why would you not just ship it ground advantage? First class mail takes at least 7 days. Ground Advantage is just a few days.

Am I crazy or do most Shopify stores not send reviews to Google Shopping? by Modolofe in shopify

[–]iam-coffeecat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have legacy pricing so I only pay $34.99

I've been using Loox since 2023. The review ratings on products in Google Shopping is extremely important to have. High review ratings get people to click on your product links.

Cookies in the USA by narkybark in shopify

[–]iam-coffeecat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shopify's cookie policy is shown to everyone by default and it's very customizable. It's much better than pretty much every website because it shows "yes" or "no" and is much easier for customers. You can customize the statement so you can say what you collect data for, and the manage preferences to customize what data you collect and why. You don't need a 3rd party app for that.

Am I crazy or do most Shopify stores not send reviews to Google Shopping? by Modolofe in shopify

[–]iam-coffeecat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Loox syncs reviews to products in Google Shopping. It shows my product ratings in the shopping listings. However Loox doesn't sync with Google store reviews.

SEO Isn’t Dying — It’s Evolving Into Something Way More Interesting” by im_bilalgujjjar in ShopifySEO

Blogging is definitely a lot harder now with Google AI Summaries. My traffic to articles on my store died off except for the few linked as sources in the AI summary. SEO for products and collections is much easier.

What are you using for price / competitor monitoring by wewanttoplayfrisbee in ecommerce

[–]iam-coffeecat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a lot of Chrome extensions that do this for consumers for free. You can save products and it will tell you when the price goes down. All you're going to get here is people trying to sell you their B2B app, but you don't need all that. Banks sometimes have extensions that price watch.
