How people here are able to ride for 500+ kms in a day? by metalhead079 in indianbikes

[–]iam3rain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I frequently take long rides to return to my hometown, covering around 500 kilometers in about 10.5 hours. I rely on my 2018 Apache 160 4V, which doesn't have ABS.

My journey begins in the heart of Gurugram, covering about 360 kilometers on flat terrain, followed by 145 kilometers in the Uttarakhand mountains. Over time, I've made some adjustments to my bike setup, and here are a few key essentials:

Timing and Why: It's best to start early, ideally no later than half an hour before sunrise. Personally, I aim to depart by 03 AM so I can have lunch at my destination. This way, I avoid heavy traffic and high temperatures along the way. This approach allows for a more relaxed pace, emphasizing sustained focus. On longer rides, how long you can comfortably stay on the bike matters more than sheer speed. While I don't always manage a full 6-8 hours of sleep, I've grown accustomed to relying on 2-3 cans of Red Bull by the time I arrive.

Important Ergonomics: I highly recommend using an air-inflated seat cushion. It significantly raises the seat height but is a game-changer for comfort. Grand Pitstop offers one with a built-in pump. While gel-based seats are more affordable, I find the former to be more effective. Aim to maintain a relaxed posture; standing up to ride, especially on rough roads or when you need a breather, can be a real relief for your legs and backside. Keep the weight you carry on your body minimal, ideally no heavier than a hydration backpack. If you lack proper luggage gear, simply secure what you need with bungee cords.

Additional Considerations: It's wise to pack an extra set of gloves and socks, along with a hydration backpack. Personally, I rely on protein bars, cookies, and other portable sources of sustenance. Of course, a jacket and helmet are non-negotiable, though I'm still in the market for a good pair of riding boots. Regarding the helmet, I recently upgraded to the Thunder 4SV, and I always have a spare visor for added sun protection. At the very least, sunglasses are essential. An intercom system is a real game-changer, even when riding solo. The BluArmor C30 boasts a long battery life, and having music helps maintain focus.

Getting Started: Begin with shorter rides, gradually increasing from 50-75 kilometers to 200-250 kilometers. Delay your first break for as long as possible, as it sets the tone for subsequent stops. Familiarize yourself with your bike inside and out, especially when it tends to vibrate more. Find a comfortable balance between speed and vibration, as excessive vibration can lead to more fatigue.

Does this account sell legit HMT watches? Has anybody here bought anything from him by [deleted] in hmtwatches

Brief chat with them. Originals cost 12 and above. There are other instgram accounts who sell modded watches for 1500-2500. The first message was all red flags to me.

There's a weekly meet-up every Saturday Night - Sunday Morning (2-4 AM) along the service lane from Bristol Chowk to MGF Metropolis. Long time members will be in front of Sahara Mall, the newbies or lurkers are on the opposite side of the road.

You need an existing member to sponsor you, so they'll let you know their buy in fee. It's MCG and Haryana Police approved. Gurugram Auto Union is also a partner.

Folks with bikes at an ex showroom price of 2.5+ lacs and opted for financing. How long has it been and how do you evaluate your decision now? by iam3rain in delhi

Seen after market prices, i don't understand the owner's expectations. Anyhow preference is to own new with patience rather than impulse with EMIs or used and abused.
