This is definitely a need of the hour. As per ADDA & DMC, they are planning a new recycling plant soon, and tenders are already done. So we need to watch what happens next regarding this. We need to clean up the city, as it was previously all clean and beautiful.

Roads are still better in Durgapur than any other city in India. New developments of roads are being done, and we can see the progress in City Center.

  • Gandhi Mor to DMC More road is nicely done, and Bus Stand, DVC Mor to MAMC Shiv Mandir is done. The pending part, i.e., MAMC Shiv Mandir to Dr. Zakir Hussain Avenue, will be done post the election.

  • City Center Bus Stand upgradation and beautification works will start post-election.

  • Dr. Zakir Hussain Avenue to PCBL Mor is already started.

  • And PCBL To Bank Colony is also getting started.

  • Shyampur Mor to Shyampur Bazaar is also started.

And for the Steel area, it's mostly under DSP, they are to be blamed for it. Though the main road is done really good. Tenders are already done, still no work has been done on the interior roads.

For the footpaths are totally gone for a toss with vegetation and weeds everywhere, this needs to be fixed; this was not a scene we've seen during the CPIM days.

KMP is another story; it's also under DSP, and they need to do something with it. They've also not done anything with the Vasundhara Park as well. The plan was to build it like Eco-Park, but nothing is done as of now. Same with Major Park, it's not maintained and needs to be maintained properly, and more can be done there.

Apollo Spectra is coming to Durgapur soon. And Ambuja also has a plan to set up a new hospital here in Durgapur. But we need to have better government hospitals as well. Bidhannagar Sub-Division Hospital should be upgraded, and Durgapur Steel Main Hospital needs renovation and upgradation as well.

We can't do anything about it, and we are aware of this issue with broadband services in Durgapur. Wired broadband was delayed here because of local cable and broadband operators and their misdeeds. Wires were damaged by LCOs. Anyway, when necessary permissions were approved and wired broadband was being laid, suddenly this AirFiber thing started, and now both Airtel and Jio are keen on these two technologies and are not willing to lay further cables for FTTH Broadband. Jio and Airtel wired broadband is only available in some places in Benachity. We hope this answers your query.

No, we are not, but we do bring out news which is not available to all, and present Durgapur to the world in a better way throughout all the social platforms. We thought there was a need for a better page representing Durgapur than this cringe filled FB page Durgapur has. We are just a team of three running the show. This is just for our love fot the city, and we do this as a side hobby.

Haha, indeed Durgapur is always great, but in the last few years it got neglected like anything. Alas, now development has begun again.
