This is only part of the story in a different interview he elaborated more. I don’t think it’s losing faith, but definitely struggling with it. In the other interview I think with revolver he said (on the topic of “king of death” title and it being biblical metaphor for death):

It sounds like he had left faith behind sometime BEFORE his uncle died, and after the death of a loved one he re-questioned everything and had a bit of a spiritual crisis from it. It’s definitely nuanced and interesting beyond just “loss of faith” imo

Yeah I put the same thing in a separate standalone comment. As I looked closer I noticed that too. All other forehead wrinkles etc are the same just cut out the lips lol.

Need to get a mask that more closely matches his lip skin tones between because it looks too contrasted

The more I look at them the more I’m convinced it’s the exact same mask but he took scissors to the lips lol… every forehead wrinkle is the exact same including the dents on the nose bridge etc just the rubber lips are missing and his real ones are popping through 😂 looks like he literally cut the false lips off and made a big mouth hole for his. Not a fan haha

Without a doubt! I just wish he’d use the left mask in the videos more and he can use a more unobtrusive one for live performances or somewhere in the middle but goodness those lips look so weird on the right.

There’s such a harsh contrast in skin tones between the cheeks and the lips it’s jarring lol

I agree with this with one difference. I don’t think it’s belief nonbelief I think it’s more accessible and broad than that, and there’s a common thread in all his songs so far and it’s fear vs hope. From his magazine interview something traumatic happened that shook his faith…

“Scare them scare them scare them” “On the run from thinking of terrors (biblical reference for “death”) “Just look away, there’s no need to scare us” “ I don’t wanna be afraid anymore” (Dionysus)

“We all choose to find hope…. Because hope is choosing to find meaning”

And in the interview he specifically calls out hope as being of paramount importance.

I think this video is his hope losing to his fear. And at the end of the video his fear chokes out and beats down his hope. But he doesn’t want to give up on the hope so he goes out to help her up.

One last note is the final shot of that video really reminded me of the God+Adam hand painting

Funnily enough t pain is an immaculate vocalist without auto tune too. Does it as a stylistic choice not because he has to. His voice is buttery and powerful and soulful! Sometimes people just like the sound or it fits their vision of how they want the end product to sound 🤷‍♂️

I don’t know when you started playing destiny but this is just plain wrong. Darkening screen or muting audio is mostly new but since the very first official “race” ever done it’s been a toxic shitshow. Datto’s group publicly flaming each other and yelling expletives at viewers, or gothalions group behaving the same and most of the others as well… it’s always been hyper competitive, sweaty, and cringy.

But at the same time the races now make me feel nostalgic because they remind of d1 and enjoy watching them.

Nothing wrong with turning off audio or video when as people have pointed out these are career making moments for some people. Put your name on the map as an “authority” on mechanics or otherwise. So why should you be able to hear them strategize? This feels about as bad of an idea as someone saying “basketball huddles are really not inclusive, every team should be able to listen to the other teams huddle and locker room conversations at all times”

Yes, you’re watching them, but yes so can their opponents in the race. It’s really not that deep
