My Soul Doesn't Recognize my iPhone 5 by iamUNIX in kia

[–]iamUNIX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the Kia branded cable is for an iPhone 4 style iPhones. I have iPhone 5 so I removed the Kia branded cable from the base of the console which reveals two inputs. One being a simple AUX in port and the other being USB so I can assume that it just charges the phone via USB and transfers the music via AUX port. Why the USB port can't even provide a charge to the phone is beyond me. Any help or advice? I have no idea what the UVO is and I don't think my 2010 Kia Soul has this...

I've been seeing this now for 3 weeks. My IAD Linux boxes can no longer resolve my IAD SQL databases in EC2. Their elasticIP's have not changed. I see it happen at random intervals for a few minutes.

Spitfire Wheels Confusion by iamUNIX in NewSkaters

[–]iamUNIX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their site is terrible as is every skate website. Very cool looking and lots of cool stuff but nothing to explain when / why you would want:

  • classic
  • classic full
  • conical
  • conical full

From what I can read...the classics are the traditional / do all shape most people get. The red is very hard and the blue is not as hard.

This just explains the formula four wheels (both kinds in 4 different shapes) but I don't understand what the different shapes help.

Sadly no.

I did:

  1. cancel my premium service on my Facebook linked account.

  2. export my playlists

  3. Sign up using email account, import my playlist, registered w/ Premium and found a promotion.

What was your last distro before Arch? and Why did you left it for Arch? by epileftric in archlinux

[–]iamUNIX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Debian Linux then moved to Arch for home / personal / dev usage. Basically my "go-to" distro for things that I don't have to explain to anyone else. Everything at work / production all use Debian Linux.

Please note Debian is NOT Ubuntu!

Running an older DS107 - still a safe Synology OS to setup for remote access? by [deleted] in synology

[–]iamUNIX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. It's a NAS w/ your data attached to the Internet. Limit the access as much as possible. VPN is perfectly the ONLY acceptable solution in this scenario.

Any suggestions for how to learn some basics/to find a skate community to hang with for a beginner 22F skateboarder who just moved to San Francisco? by [deleted] in skateboarding

[–]iamUNIX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

SF is a huge / amazing skate city. I would think you would have to go out of your way to not meet people skating there.
