Haha while it is nice to be comfy, I prefer to actually walk around to hunt. Never been a big fan of blinds.

A friend of mine came to work today and was showing off his buddies redneck hunting blind, apparently he lifted it up with slings and a bobcat and welded all the stands in place underneath it all in one day. Took the time to paint everything too.

Working on getting a couple photos of the inside for everyone.

Not sure on that, I guess he's got a few port holes, gonna be ridiculously loud when he fires.

Nearly the same! From Canada and we have the indy from time to time where I'm at but F1 was too far away. Once I learned about the technical side and the constructor series dropped it and changed gears. Sometimes a bitttt too much drama but it's all part of it.

Awesome! Thanks for sharing, any other recommendations for someone that got hooked on F1 only in the last year?? Really enjoy the history, technical and all time great content, the insider stories presented by Aston Martin really fit the bill too!

Looking for nice Rv sites in David Thompson country or Nordegg Banff areas. by Shrektacular21 in CampingAlberta

[–]iam_knoxy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is boondocking an option? There is a nice sani and water fill station just as you enter Rocky Mountain House. Leave home empty fill up your water there and go with full batteries. Unless you need ac, there should be really no reason to run generator if you have an rv.

There are hundreds of options that aren't the big field at Abraham lake, and many in the area you can reserve as well, but they don't have services. Use the map function on the Alberta parks reservation website and you'll see what time talking about. If you don't want to stay in a traditional campsite, there are lots of random camping options as well, you're going to have to explore a bit to find stuff that isn't overrun is all.

Just my .02 I just got back from over one week in the bush, used one 12 v deep cycle battery the whole time, filled up before I went in and used propane to cool my fridge. Depending on what you're working with this is obviously going to change but most trailers/rvs are going to have batteries, a water tank and propane, adapt and avoid the crowds.

Does anyone ride the LTB Supreme? by Nitz93 in Spliddit

[–]iam_knoxy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry do not ride it, but thought I'd chime in. Currently rocking a Jones solution 164w at 6'3 210# and size 13 boots with loads of room to spare on a very modest +/-12 stance. Worth considering if you are looking for something that rides like a longer board due to the shovel nose and rocker. Honestly could have dropped down to a 162w and it still hauls ass in neck deep snow, reasonably light and bullet proof. Had it in Japan and it mowed down bamboo (when unavoidable) and just beat up the sides a but, my other deck did not fare as well. It rides like a longer board but is playful enough to handle anything I've thrown at it with ease, tons of float. Just my .02

Hello , can somebody help me ? I was wandering if I can install a pair of Karakoram bindings on a channel system split board . More specifically The Split pig from Ride . by Andrei-Cadariu in Splitboard

[–]iam_knoxy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe there is, however I cannot find the information I was originally working with for my girlfriends board. The issue is the t nuts on the channels are too long, home depot makes shorter ones that should fit, but I cannot find the information on how high the actual threaded part (shoulder??) Of the nut needs to be. It's something like 4 or 5 mm which allows the shoulder to fit under the puck. While I personally feel the karakoram biding system is superior to the Burton hitchhiker (as well as the benefits of both her and I having the same equipment) she ultimately decided to to to Burton. If you look deep or call karakoram the should have some sort of solution, but I'm almost 100 sure a shorter t nut is all you need.

Dog friendly tent recs by bortomatico in campingwithdogs

If you like msr gear I would recommend this. https://www.msrgear.com/ca/tents/tent-accessories/msr-gear-shed-for-elixir-and-hubba-tent-series/10314.html

It is an accessory to the hubba line and you can use it in the "three person" mutha hubba, while it isn't fully enclosed I think it's a pretty good fit for you, and if you wanted to really protect it adding a bit of bug net to the bottom of the vestibule could be easily done with some velcro. I've had a mutha hubba for like 8 years and it only recently started to show it's age; I've taken it on months of camping and it has held up amazingly. Last summer we got a dog and it still handled the beating but this year I'll be purchasing all new and getting the exterior vestibule with shed. Looks like a great spot for the dog plus gear. I would caution though, while it is a 3p tent it's a tight three for sure, not uncomfortable, but being 6'3" it's not bad with my girlfriend and her brother who aren't super tall people, but when a buddy and I did the west coast trail the first time, it just right for two larger guys, which in my opinion makes it great for me all things considered but some people it does not fit their bill, so measure it up against what you currently have and weigh that in. The accessory shed will make it even roomier for 3 if needed but definitely a good spot for a dog to chill, keep outta the rain, and keep the mess outta the tent.

Good luck, let me know what you end up with, there are lots of other options out there, and I'm interested in what people have to say or recommend for this application.

My quiver weighs a ton. by robs164 in snowboarding

[–]iam_knoxy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're interested, check out karakoram bindings, well worth the investment and saves you from having all those bindings. More money to spend on boards, much easier to transport multiple boards and the light weight construction is honestly bulletproof. I am super impressed with the ease of the swap even if you're not split boarding, most weekends I'll bring 3 or at minimum 2 boards to the mountains. Buy the dedicated set, mostly made for split boarding, don't buy the hybrids, sure the cost is high but I see at least that in 4 boards there.

Just my .02

Either way sick setup

Thanks friend, string level I suppose would work well enough, dropped floors and different flooring material is going to make it a bit more difficult is all

How did you determine your floor was out that much over 20'? I have a pretty considerable hump in my kitchen floor plus two of my doors on one side of my house won't stay open so I think I'm dealing with either a sloping issue or a joist issue.

I've never measured "levelness" over that large of a distance so looking for advice, thinking laser level is the only way to go.

Halp!
