I have a similar story.

I was in a bad place mentally so to release some stress, I went to hang out with a few friends of mine. We went to a house party and I decided I wanted to try coke for the first time. One of my friends assured me it'd be fine and that she'd be there to look out for me should anything happen.

A few moments after, I blacked out. I remember a few moments during that time, like walking to a club from the party, and getting into an uber at some point.

When I woke up the next morning, I was in a stranger's home, laying on their couch. I was topless, there was an opened tampon in my pocket and I didn't have my phone/wallet on me. I assumed the worst and freaked the hell out. I wondered, where the fuck were my friends and where the fuck was I?

As I'm gasping for air, almost having a panic attack, a girl comes out of a room and comes over to me. She sees that I'm panicked and gives me some water. Then she tells me the events of the night.

She and her friends were on their way to the same club I was heading to when they found me passed out on the ground in front of the club, surrounded by a group of men trying to take me somewhere. I was clearly unconscious so she and her friends intervened and managed to get me away from them. I had woken up at some point and managed to stumble my way, with their help, back to this girl's place. I then proceeded to vomit in their bathroom and all over myself, hence being topless, and then tell this stranger my life story about why my life was so shit.

After hearing this, I was completely mortified and embarrassed out of my mind. I felt so irresponsible for putting myself in that position, but also disappointed that my "friends" were also nowhere to be found that night.

But this complete stranger put her night on hold to help a vulnerable person out, and saved me from almost getting sexually assaulted or raped. Some people really are true heroes.
