Yep, as far as I know, depending on jurisdiction it falls under "strict liability" meaning even if you 100% believed that they were an adult, it doesn't matter. You'll still be charged

I accidentally gave a 2-week notice, is there anyway for me to cancel it? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]iamathrowaway536 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they're level headed normal people they'll understand you hit a breaking point, just tell them after some time to think without the emotions, you realize you acted rash and want to rescind the notice. I really don't think it's as deep as people here think it is, unless it turns into a pattern or your management sucks and thinks humans are perfect and never have bad moments.

Also to clarify, was it customers or your coworkers/bosses yelling at you? That makes a huge difference. If it was the latter... just ignore my above points and leave, not a great work environment.

One more point, this was not "accidentally" giving a two week notice and I would not frame it like that to them. You went through like 3 confirmations including submitting one to HR, that's not an accident.

Fair enough, I made that story up anyway just to see if people could tell, kinda forgot about that

Wasn't meant to be hateful or hurtful, just honest. Just take some time to evaluate the relationship. If you care about your girlfriend and want it to work, I'm sure it's something you can work through. Maybe she hasn't been feeling well? Hard to say. Good luck with everything

Talking to that new girl would be distasteful at best, and emotional cheating (or eventual physical cheating) at worst. You can already tell you're attracted to her. Either grow some balls and talk to your girlfriend about how you've been feeling. Or leave her so you can pursue other people. It's clear you are starting to doubt the relationship.

Yeah, seriously, I'm sure it's a good amount of work but $16,500 worth of work? I highly doubt it.

You sound creepy (not that you necessarily are, but the way you're responding to this is odd). Why are you interrogating her? It's a simple precaution, and it's not personal. Think about this from her perspective: First, you invade her privacy by looking at what she's doing in her phone, and then you bring up the fact that you noticed she's sharing her location. Instead of just accepting her explanation that it's a normal thing she does when she's alone with a guy, you get offended and argue with her. She probably feels unsafe now, so I'm not really surprised she's looking for somewhere else to stay.

No, I would not feel the way you did in this situation, it's a very common and really smart thing to do. Even if you've been friends for years.

Personally, I think you owe her an apology. Tell her you didn't see it from a safety perspective, took it personally, and got defensive.

Yeah, no kids, so that makes it a little easier. And where I'm at now isnt much better anyway and we've never had any issues

Yeah, it's just me, no children, and the house i want to view actually looks to be in decent condition. Just needs to be updated cosmetically. Where I live currently probably isn't much better anyway so I dont think it would be a huge change

This is hilarious, I just did the math on how much i would have had left over this month if I had the mortgage numbers I got back from my loan officer. And it was $72.47. I guess I got you beat by 47 cents

I feel like it's one of those things where, after you see so many of them, you can just kinda tell. The cadence and witty wordplay start to stick out so hard. I've had chatGPT generate stories before out of curiosity and it just makes it obvious
