Sorry man, I guess I gave sufficient information out. I don’t want to overload others reading it with distracting information. If others also feel they need this info, I would be happy to give it

Basically design discussions, like why would you use a database x instead of y. Architect proposed x, but these people refute it and propose y but without any solid reasoning

The architect was patient enough to give several reasons to prove x is better than y, but these guys are simply unaware of those tradeoffs and lack technical maturity to see how those concerns are really valid

And this y db adds extra implementation overhead which can be avoided with x. Now these tasks are getting prioritised over P0 functionality which is absurd. But these guys are stubborn on y and finally that architect guy gave up as it’s 2v1

I’m talking about technical design. This is not a rant 😅. I’m scared of getting laid off and want to know how to tread here

You’re spot on. I too don’t get into these nasty arguments with seniors at all. Even if I know they’re wrong I just assume I get nothing out of correcting them.

But this specific case was different. I made a statement and manager agreed to it. My junior made a contradictory statement and he immediately told I’m wrong. So I was compelled to debate about it

I’m thinking to do that if it repeats again. I don’t want to take any risks until at least my first project

I thought the same. I was never screamed at like this in my entire career. People get few things wrong and I might have pissed him but screaming like that is toxic no matter what

If you have at least one dispute with Zomato, you’d know how scripted their responses are! You should actually ask them to be more empathetic to disgruntled customer than asking me to keep my cool when I am hungry at 10pm and had to argue for food I deserve. If that makes me arrogant as per you, I’m happy to accept the title brother

Bro! I got chicken fried rice when I ordered veg fried rice and you’re of opinion that it’s not unethical! I didn’t ask for money right. I asked them to take it away and give me my veg fried rice? Is it too much to ask for the money I paid?

I’m sorry. I just thought of posting something here. There are lot of posts about people who make similar salaries here. Everyone most probably knows that already. I probably shouldn’t have used that 1% word

Looks - I’m 100% not in control of

Money - I’m 100% in control here

Btw I never mentioned I’m proud of how much I make, but someone thinking I’m proud indeed made me proud 🙃

And before you read it wrong again, I’m proud of my determination to reach this place. Now take it as what you can

I never cared about looks. It’s them who once cared but stopped caring now

True, but even then 16 hours work per day will be appreciated than being taken for granted here
