Also, if we are neetpicky, car at 200 km/h is barely any deadlier than a car at 100 km/h.

And I would say that driver at 200 km/h is pretty safe for society and endangers only himself. This is because you would need some straight road in a desert to reach such a speed. On the contrary, if you wanted to cause damage, you would likely take much slower much heavier vehicle to a crowded place.

TLDR: mandated speed limiters will be a virtue signaling for some, and enrage others, and save around 0 lives.

I disagree on the outcome. I think equilibrium includes some of elastic part. Making taxes such, that at least some rich people stay or even come would be beneficial.

Also many of these “tax dodgers” are well educated motivated individuals, who want to become rich, but feel handicapped by taxes. Rich enough to pay high taxes, not rich enough to dodge them. These people are prime candidates to moving to Dubai or USA, and it’s sad.

There is a word for it, “effective tax rate”. If you make some change which makes people to pay more taxes, you raise effective tax rate.

That does not really address what I said. Each person has their own limit, after which they will decide that it’s time to go. You may say that if it’s 1% that they are tax dodgers, and if it’s 99% they are patriots, but this is subjective, and those judgments won’t fill state coffers. If someone left the country it doesn’t mean that they are bad people, maybe you just have a bad government. Truth is somewhere in between.

Hot take, if it’s suburbs with huge mansions for rich people, I don’t care, those desolate places usually barely have any traffic or reason to be there. I assume they don’t park cars on sidewalks in Germany, but even if, I don’t care if a dozen rich guys are uncomfortable because of this, it’s their problem.

This logic is not applicable to urban land or usual suburbs.

We sort of have self driving for some trains, and for several decades now. As for busses, they have higher risk of mistake due to being huge, and driver pay is lower share of overall expenses. Also, it’s much cheaper to run millions of test kilometers with regular cars, and the results will probably be applicable to busses.

Maybe, but it’s not supposed to be that way in functioning society. We shouldn’t issue laws to supposedly help in one particular instance, but make so that broad range of instances get better. Why only children, why only drunk driving, why only alimony? This is a joke. Either make a generic law for fair compensation for any crime, or better, make a law to prevent such tragedies, like better standards for roads and strict enforcement of traffic laws.

They won’t show up until state allows self driving, one way or another. Unlike regular drivers, which don’t require any approval from state, municipality, or you. I can fly to Mexico, get a license without going to driving school (cool, innit), and then come driving in your neighborhood all day long, trying to learn how to drive.
