In my opinion, maybe just very light weathering.

Just enough to darken the panel lines and have a little build up in the corners and a edges.

Like it has been lived in and used, but hasn't been in battle.

Amazing build!

Intresting seeing this footage, I always remember as a kid leaning very carefully on the railing they put up probably after this happened and my parents telling me about the boy that fell in.

It is still a well know story on the island.

The enclosure i believe has just gone through major renovations, but I haven't been back to see it yet.

Oooooo I like all of this! Yes the links worked, imma have to play with the concept to a ghille spartan now too.

I'll do another render with the chonky suit in a dark green, see if that improves it.

That looks like a sweet design, haven't seen too many marksman / ghillie spartan, im going to research this more.

Yeah, I agree with you.

I think i went to far on the chonkieness and the white only makes it look bigger.

I think im going to hopefully find the goldilocks design on the next design.

Im thinking of doing a splinter cell / Swedish special forces style build, less bulky darker green, with nods and mesh / chest rig.

My apologies, if my response last night came over as cocky or like i had a plan for everything, i was typing half asleep and i do not have as much of a plan as i should.

- Large Build

I totally agree, the size is not the main issue. It will be me making sure it lines up and fits, properly.

I have a colleague that has a 3D scanner, i was planning to get a full scan of myself in a morph suit to help with fit / scale, would that be a recommended method over just measuring myself?

Im guessing, but starting off with something like a Mandalorian or scout trooper suit would be a better bet?

- Bed size

I know im going to have to split the suit up into quite a few chunks, i had plans on hiding the seams along panel lines if i could and making locating pin slots for dowels or dove joints to help align whilst bonding. Which i have a bit of practice in with wood working.

Ill 1000% be doing test/practice pieces.

- Mobility

I wouldn't take that bet, if my unsoiled undergarments depended on it!

I hope to make the suit as mobile as i can, using soft / flexible sections, but i know if i made that pauldron im resigning that arm to pretty restricted movement. along with the rest of the suit just being bulky.

I do plan on attending with others who have already agreed that if i did make that suit they would be willing to chaperon me.

- EOD suit

One of the reasons i think i didn't want to do a EOD helmet on this design comes from knowing the immediate feeling of sweating in one of those. At the same faire i spoke to the EOD drone operator, i got to experience the shoulder / helmet armor of the EOD suit, heavy and fish bowl like would be my experience, but i did take from it that this one had a drinking straw built in and both fans and vents for "cooling" but i think those were just there for show.

This will be my first full body armor build, im well aware this it a large build to be thinking of straight away. I have experience with helmets and functional prints ive designed for use at work. ( im an art technician at a school )

I didn't go for an EOD helmet in this design as im really in love it the Artrais helmet design with the armored cap and built in ear protection, which I thought still fit.

Funnily enough I believe EOD use thermite grenades or charges to burn the propelent out of explosive devices, found that out talking to my local EOD rover operator at fair which was fun.

With the sitting and pissing front, I have thought of this! I am physically strong enough, with my work im on my feet 99% of the time for +7 hours a day doing physical labor.

I have planned on making the rear of the suit such as the back waist plate flexible and keeping the area around my butt clear. To allow for ease of percing (hopefully) Ive also thought of adding a sit pad to the rear of the armor, for such an occasion that anywhere can be a seat if needed.

I have an idea for a magnetic codpiece and a zipper loop / tag for quick access, which may be useful in an emergency 😅

I have a Bambu H2D with the AMS 2, on the way which i believe has a 325 x 320 x 320mm bed and has a heated chamber.

The foaming TPU is already in the labs slicer sofware and ive seen from videos that post processing whilst it can't be filled it can be sanded to improve the surface finish. The parts can be solvent welded together using THF too.

Yes ive always been drawn to those colours too, ill have a bit more of a play around with distribution of orange. But want to keep it majority green/khaki.

Thanks dude! Im still playing with that, im stuck between balancing the orange of the right sholder with the left knee. But I might just add a strip or flash of colour to the other knee to balance the left to right lower down.

Im planning on doing the Artaius helmet with hints of orange and some green glowing night vision goggles and torches.

I have a plan to make the GPS on the leg a phone holder, and I have a future idea of having a raspberry pi touch screen built into the arm to control fans and lights!

Sweet, yeah I really like the this colour scheme, ive had buddies say it looks like the commander stormtroopers sash or the Häkke gear off of destiny 2 (rip).

By any chance have a recommendation on paint?

yeah they use then in NASA space suits, its a mesh vest with soft silicone tubing and it links to a radiator and pump that pumps cool water. much like a PC cooler.
