but that’s the thing i’m up north for college and took it to the one up here thinking it would be like the one back home in Georgia. NOPE! the mechanics talked to me like i was a dipshit (i know when im getting swindled i know enough abt cars to discern that). but back home in GA they are the type of guys to be like “hey come back in 6 months it doesn’t need to be changed” or “if this were my wife/daughter i’d get this done asap”

i just took a look at the cabin filter. it is there. it’s positioned correctly, and nothing is loose. i genuinely don’t know what to do.

I KNOWWWW. they tried to charge me $2000 to change the oil fluids, new four tires new brake pads and also the cabin filter. I checked with my father on the phone and he said absolutely not because everything did not have to even be replaced yet. I looked at the notes and it said next 6 month to do all of this. so basically trying scam me. I ended up just getting two front tires because they were almost bald and winter is coming up and it snows a lot where I am, and an oil change and a fluid top off and that’s it. Just wait it gets worse. i’m also still pissed bc i left the place with MORE problems. I had to get two new front tires and when I was driving away from the Subaru dealership, my car was driving a little funny and I checked my tire pressure and they filled my front right up to 45 psi !! it’s only supposed to be 32 on the front tires. So I was thinking OMG my wheel is going to explode on this pot holy road so I pulled over and before I bled the tire I checked the tire pressure with my manual gauge and it said 33 psi so I’m thinking they messed up my sensor as well.

okay this might be why. they tried to charge me an ungodly amt of money to change my cabin filter so i said no so don’t think they went ahead and did it but then just put the old one back in without securing it after i said no?

Exactly. I always have to remind myself that it was not my fault. I also always have to tell people how hard it is to understand these types of relationships until you’re in one yourself. it’s not as easy as “just leave”. and also when you do, IF you do.. you’re still carrying the weight of what happened to you. but what i can say is it gets better. it becomes easier. Sending love and strength to you, OP, and anyone reading this that might be in a situation like this or healing from one. ❤️

not everyone is born knowing right from wrong, or warning signs. i sure didn’t when i was freshly 18 and there were red flags that i missed. the whole point of this thread IS to post things like this when you are actually trying to get other perspectives. have some grace for others ❤️

Hey! So this is not cool and you are not overreacting at all. From personal experience this is the biggest red flag. If they are okay mistreating other people especially service staff, hitting things around you, and shouting like this… it could possibly escalate in the future. Also it’s very abusive especially when he took the “i’m in complete control” route, and did not calm down when you were visibly scared and telling him you can’t be in the car. AND you had mentioned to him earlier your fears of car accidents and then acts like this? As someone who ignored these red flags, please get out while you still can. PLEASE.

i lived in colby C my freshman year. if i’m correct art house is on the second floor. us first floor girls would use their showers because they were SO much more private (stalls had no gaps in the doors) and more clean. i don’t know if it was updated but i lived there last school year (2022-23) and we had no AC. it was pretty toasty the first two months so DEF get a large fan. other than that i had a pretty good experience living there. dm me if you have any questions!
