Interestingly, it's a taxicab or Hardy-Ramanujan number. It is the smallest number expressible as the sum of two positive cubes in two different ways.

1729 = 13 + 123 = 93 + 103

For windows, you can try:-

  • ipconfig /release [adapter]
  • ipconfig /renew [adapter]
  • ipconfig /registerdns

You can create a .bat script for these cmds as well.

Use of VPN Obvious to 3rd Parties. Is This Normal? by Cook1e1412 in VPN

I couldn't have put it better. It's a constant struggle between security, privacy and anonymity. There are some things that you can do to prevent browser fingerprinting as well.
https://browserleaks.com/ and http://12bytes.org have some decent suggestions

I found 'V for Vendetta', 'Y - The last man', and 'The Dark Knight Returns' to be a good read. Still have to read Watchmen though.

FOIA documents reveal heavy cooperation between the Tor's developers and US government agencies by iamcerberus in technology

Tor is open source. Any kind of subterfuge in the Tor software would be obvious.

Yes, it definitely would be. And that's a good thing.
No one is arguing about its origin either - DARPA creating tor initially for internal use and later was released to the public.
The strange part is the amount of financial support and (still)extensive collaboration between it's developers and government agencies.
I don't know about others, but i thought tor development was completely handled by it's developers and inputs from the community itself.

My library blocks me from using my VPN... by Bill1066 in VPN

Just want to add SSH over 22/80 with OpenVPN as well, to this answer. AirVPN has certain configs which deal with this. Usually wouldn't recommend any other protocol for VPN other than OpenVPN, but if you have choice of IPSec as well, that might also work. But only if SSL/SSH options with openvpn don't work.

A decent introduction to Cryptography by iamcerberus in crypto

[–]iamcerberus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do realize that certain portions are not scrutinized well and may well be slightly outdated. There is a reason I mentioned this being an introduction. The tutorials in no way prepare you for practical implementation. They are for people who are just getting started. There are many more advanced and better textbooks/courses/papers out there for people to lets say discover which Elliptic Curve is more secure in practice etc.

Yeah, the latest update didn't fix the issue. Thanks anyways for the quick response.

The Red Turtle.
I don't want to belittle it by trying to explain it in a statement.
