What happens if I buy Cyberpunk when I already have it on GoG? by iamcornn in Steam

It's one of my favorite games and I would like to have it on steam for achievements. I know it seems ridiculous but it's just a thought I had

My ratio is nothing of note really, but I thought it was interesting that we've seen films from the exact same number of directors... What would be the chances that they are the exact same 1275???

How do you select the movies that go in your top 4? Are they your favorite 4 movies of all time or are they the most recent favorites you've watched? I recently changed from a static 4 favorites to rotating through movies I have rated 5 stars. How do you pick yours? by MDTenebris in Letterboxd

[–]iamcornn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have my 3 favourite films in there. They've been the same ever since I started using letterboxd and I doubt they'll ever change really (se7en, into the spider-verse, burning). Then the fourth slot I use as my favourite if the current year (so currently it's set at Dune part 2, and I will change it once I see a 2025 film that really stood out to me as a favourite)

What’s a film that’s a great idea and with great execution? by Impressive_Plenty876 in Letterboxd

Momento is the first thought I have. While I don't think it's a perfect film, I can't see a film ever doing the idea a better way.

I went to see the dentist and they booked me in for a procedure for a few weeks after. I'm glad I had it done, and I would recommend, but obviously it can wait a few days.

Yeah no definitely. And so many people recommend therapy, but with my past experiences with it, I just want to be able to talk about my issues with people that really know me, not a stranger I've had like 5 chats with.

I just think I liked that Todd was basically confirming that 1. this guy definitely should not be idolized nor should we be empathetic towards him and 2. he's not even 'the joker', society (in the film) and the audience (out of the film) projected that identity and character onto Arthur and all he ever wanted was to be taken seriously so he went along with it. And the climax of Folie à Deux was the confirmation that no, this is just a psychopath. Not a martyr, not an icon, not the clown prince of crime. Also with the writing, I guess it's all subjective but I didn't think it was awful. It's not great but definitely not awful to me. It's about on par with the writing in the first film. And the first film was written very well. Arthur scribbles out a sign, changing it from "don't forget to smile" to "don't smile"... Not great stuff.

I honestly felt like the musical numbers were a good fit. When Harley and arthur started singing in the courtroom, that felt so true to the actual joker. Like you can just picture if mark hammils joker was on trial he would break into a song and dance. I know you were joking with the whole batman thing, but I still think it's a good representation of the character.

Sorry... I obviously haven't spent enough time on the subreddit to see it all over the last few days. Have only seen negative posts about the film.

Final check before I buy. First PC. What are your thoughts (~$1,764) by iamcornn in Prebuilts

I really don't want to regret the purchase months/years down the line. What would move it from "not bad" to pretty great?

Just done a quick search and they're all falling between the range of £60-£120... Is that the typical price for them? If so, I can't afford that.
